re: Orgeron: It's going to look different, because it is different

He preferred Akers, who would've been tailor-made for his offense.
Akers was the big fish that he wanted, but having Akers in no way precludes Etienne. His top two targets, as evidenced by the offers, were Akers and CEH. He could've pursued Akers and Etienne, but that's not the route he chose.

Absolutely
There's a reason recruiting classes cannot be judged until 3-4 years down the Road. Miles was definitely involved in the 2017 class

You're right, that's not the route he chose.
It's easy to say these things in retrospect. But the fact is no one knows what would've happened had he been allowed to play out the season. He may have offered Etienne eventually. He's landed plenty of big fish later in the cycle.
He still can't really be blamed for a cycle that he wasn't allowed to finish.

They were. Sounds like Akers wasn't honest with the staff

Roger wants to say that Burrow and the passing game just woke up one game day and all of a sudden figured it all out, without taking the level of competition into account.
If that what you're getting out of this, you have a 4th grade education, at best

I think we mostly agree. Orgeron did eventually offer Etienne, and it was still ahead of Clemson. There's no telling what may have happened had he stayed - it's not impossible that he could've landed all three.
At the same time, I don't know how you blame Orgeron when he only landed the job in late November. He had sixty-somthing or seventy-something days from hire date to signing day. Most of the top prospects are already committed by then. You can't start from scratch in late November.

The ones raving about the offensive "explosion" after the coaching change also conveniently forgot that Miles and Cam were setting records during the first half of 2015, before the schedule got hard.
The offense fell apart because we couldn't throw the ball, and it became predictable. It's not hard to defend when you can stack the box and not worry about Brandon Harris.

You're flattering him now. He's already a half a fifth in right now.

Opinions Red. They're like assholes. Everyone's got one and damn near all of them stink.

Ricky's working with Duke math. He thinks the last three games of the season equates to the last half of a 13-game season.
He said yesterday that you had to be retarded to believe the offense improved in 2017. Sadly he forgot admitting the day before that it had improved.
He disappeared soon afterwards

I don't blame anyone but Alleva for 2016-17. I do blame him for not getting a bigger difference maker in 2018. Curry's not going to ever have a significant role with LSU, and Provens should've never been offered.

I think Earl is senile. Bless his heart. I try to explain in simple terms and he still gets lost

Ricky is a wing nut, like Damone he'll tell you ad nauseam about the 2016 recruiting class being ranked #2 without ever living up to the fact that there were a number of bombs in that class. Damone shite on the 2018 class in this thread, not a stellar class, but one that's already shown more potential than 2016's offensive class, which had a large part leave without ever contributing.

You bet Roger.
Roger: The passing game improved the last couple of games of the seaosn.
Me: Yes Roger, it did improve, But take a look at the teams that we played and how bad their pass defenses were.
Roger: I SAID THE PASSING GAME IMPROVED DAMN IT!
