Instead of trying to figure out what Oregon will try to run, I like the idea of knocking the hell out the person in front of you and flying to the ball. Oh wait, that how the SEC plays football. This is not high school or some shabby college team Oregon is playing. Our defense is always prepared for any style.
The only thing you should be calling shabby is your analysis.

I so badly want Oregon to come out and run the 9 minute offense. Then the players can think, "why frick did we run all those extra wind sprints?"
I was wondering why they never really tried to push it during the BCSCG. Everyone was expecting to see this past pace offense and they slowed it down quite a bit.

2002 Oregon 36 Miss St 13
2003 Oregon 42 Miss St 34
2010 Oregon 48 Tennessee 13
2011 Oregon 19 Auburn 22
3-1 in the last 10 years playing SEC teams.

I highly doubt they'll be impressed by 2 wins over Miss St considering they haven't lost to the Pac-10 in 30 years. I'm confident we'll make it one loss in 30 years but it should be a great game.

I sleep just fine at night, especially knowing how big of a win the Tigers are going to bring home from Dallas.

All those teams are garbage with the exception of the one you lost to
You fail, so try again

Every play still comes down to one-on-one match-ups. If they hurry up the pace then they will just hurry up the one-on-one beat downs. This is why Auburn slowed them down so well.

You made him look a lot better by failing to realize that one of those garbage teams should have beaten you last season.

How did LSU do against that garbage last year at home?

Correct. Good luck doing it Oregon decides to go full speed.

Ole Miss, Auburn, and Florida are much more physical than Oregon!!!
Their spread is built to be run in the SEC.
Now, I don't see how in the hell we benefit from Oregon's fast paced offense. I know our defense will be ready.
But Oregon fans have fallen too much in love with their offense and fallen out of reality!!!

Did you really just list Miss St. (twice), Tennessee, and Auburn (of whom you lost the championship to).
Do us a favor and stop posting.

They have to continue getting first downs to get into a rhythm. Kind of hard to run a "fast paced" offense going 3 and out.
I mean, Oregon goes to the National Championship and all of sudden the rest of the football world should be trembling in their boots
!!!
REALLY!!!
Hell, I'm more afraid of an Alabama team with all new starters on both sides of the ball than I am of Oregon.

Isn't Bama ahead of both LSU and Oregon in most preseason polls?...just saying. If we were playing them or OU, I'd be more worried as well.

Thats called rationalization. LSU got lucky. Yeah it's a win but win your comparing us to Auburn so it's fair to compare LSU to Tenn. I agree, at the end of the year with the current BCS formula score isn't taken into account.

I think we should use a 4-2-5 defense to slow down Oregon's spread offense. We should use five defensive backs and two linebackers, which will eliminate the pressure the Ducks put on a middle linebacker in a 4-3 set.
If Oregon makes halftime adjustments that nixes their spread offense, look for a safety to cheat up to the line. If Oregon gives the Tiger defense a triple-option look, look for both safeties to cheat up to the line. If Oregon becomes dependent on the run, look for LSU to bring back their third linebacker.
