We will know what this LSU team is all about after Saturday night either way.

I disagree.

We may well have the same thoughts after this weekend.

We should be substantially better than Vandy. Just as we should have been substantially better than UW. We were better, overall, than UW. The win tends to solidify that, but LSU did not provide an awe-inspiring performance. They may not this weekend either.

Maybe we, as LSU fans, are just plain spoiled. In some respects, we find a lot of failure if we don't totally dominate an opponent, particularly one that is perceived as a weak one.

The bottom line is to win, right? LSU did that.

It might be awhile until we dominate someone. If ever this season.

Until then though, we'll have to deal with being 1-0. At a minimum, it seems better than the alternative.

there will be critics who will claim that LSU didn't win by enough, that CS didn't get enough carries, that JJ didn't complete enough passes, etc.
Those aren't concerns, that's nitpicking. The concerns are our defense, lack of pressure, poor fundamentals in tackling, the secondary who can't provide run support and the soft scheme. Those are legitimate concerns and for you to denigrate that only shows you don't know what you're talking about.

We will have a better answer about this team in 2 weeks when SC plays Washington in Seattle. I will feel better if Washington wins which they are capable or game is close with SC winning. But, if SC blows Washington out then what will that say about us?

I think some fans will be upset if this team looks almost perfect... they will have nothing to bitch about.
Very true. I have always believed that what people say is never as reliable an idicator of what they want as how they behave is. When something happens, the people who seem happy are the people who wanted it to happen. The people who seem sad are the people who did not want it to happen. So the people taking so much glee and joy in how "right" they were about Miles/Chavis/LSU sucking are clearly the ones who wanted LSU to struggle. And I expect that behaviour to continue throughout the year just as it does every year.

Last year was the happiest I've seen some of the posters here since I joined Tigerdroppings.

Extreme understatement. One should always, always remember: some of these people are the same ones who were bitching -- truly and genuinely bitching -- after the '07 Va. Tech game.
