One of the LSU recruiting staff members is not very happy about the early kickoff

There was no better game for recruiting than the Tennessee game. Sucks that it is an 11am Jefferson Pilot kickoff. If we are going to make this a Jefferson Pilot game, get me Dave Neal and Dave Rowe dammit!

These visits are scheduled ahead of time because the recruits go to multiple schools. There may be a schedule conflict for them to come for the Bama game

Last I checked, the day doesn’t end at 3PM on 10/8. If recruits can’t get to BR by 11am on Saturday, they can still show up by 1PM, watch the 2nd half, & still have a full day for a recruiting visit.
Seems like a bit of an overreaction.

They also have to play a game the day before and travel

Does the recruiting team expect every game to be a night game? Like I said, they can show up at 1PM & still catch the game.
Were they going to miss it if it was a 2:30 kickoff too?

Thank you for proving how little you know about an LSU recruiting visit actually works & is scheduled for the most effective value. Especially on what is a big time rare home matchup.

Explain to me how it would be better for a 2:30 kickoff.

They had this one scheduled for a night game when they were planning the weekend. Is what it is.

Well that was a big mistake. Did they not know how the selection process works? 2:30 was the most realistic time for kickoff

Wrong. Every LSU team brings the top recruits in for Bama weekend.

230 is far easier. They get to the stadium hours before kickoff so they can walk around the stadium, tailgate, talk to coaches. They likely won’t fly here until Saturday morning because of their high school games This just kills the morning.
Not to mention the atmosphere will be half of what it is at night.

“Hours before” but they can’t get here by 11am?
I get the extra time for walking around stadium, talking to coaches, etc, but like I said.. the day doesn’t automatically end after the game. They can still do all of that after.

Not for an 11am kickoff. Have you been to an 11am kickoff game before?
