I think we had packed houses before other schools. 5k fans and the the lenient gate policy at left field (women brought in Daiquiris in Daq Cafe cups!) made for a rowdy arse left field and 3rd base line.

Section L1 gave the opposing 3B coach a lot of grief in the Old Box. Section L2 dished out the grief to the opposing bullpen. Leroy's voice carried much further in the Old Box as well.
Totally.
We also used to be able to reach the metal wall. So when we dropped a base hit over left fielder's head, we were beating the hell out of the wall 15 feet away from him. I miss that wall. Boo pads.

Back in the OLD BOX the people who are now old silver hairs were young and loud.
In the new Box they are old and know baseball too well to get roudy except for victory laps.

RIP a fellow front row Left Field Lunatic. Never got her name but she was disabled and would come to many games in her wheelchair, often with an assistant. She would rhyme our guy's names with positive chants.
Determann CAN!
Ahh good times.

I am convinced it is because of the configuration of the stadium. The old Box held the noise better and the fans were closer to the field. The new Box is more spread out.
