I am with you here. I am not at all happy with Miles as a coach, but if he is able to turn the program around to at least look respectable on the field, I am more than willing to back him. Right now, he has lost my support not that it matters a hill of beans in the big picture.

Have you? How many of these "great" LSU teams are you referring to?
OK, you got me. I think of greatness in terms of playing heart and soul, with focus, intensity, skills sharpened, never quitting or underachieving, no brook-trouting, and being a real factor in whatever championships as may be within reach. With that in mind, I'll agree most of the last 10 years have been "great" by my standards, even where there were 3 losses. But the last 2 years were not great, not even good. Mediocre. No heart. No focus. No sense of purpose. No visible player development. And no, I will not settle for that kind of mediocrity. No kidding.

9-3 in the regular season, 3rd in the SEC, which earns an invite to in the highest rated SEC bowl outside the BCS, and an overall nationally ranked team is now a "joke".

No

You should have stopped with "no".

there is no reason at all not to examine it as a fan base.

"Examine it" all you want, Doc, but at the end of the day a 9-3 regular season, 3rd place finish in the best college football conference in the world, an invite to play in a major bowl on New Year Day, and a Top 20 national rating is nothing to piss on and if you can't see that, then it is perhaps you who has your head stuck in something.

Did we have disappointments...yes. Did our overall season rank in bout the top 85% of LSU football seasons in results...yes.

Excuse me for not running around shouting, "the sky is falling, the sky is falling". I have seen the sky fall at LSU and, to this point, I'm not seeing it, but each to our own.

What amazes me is so many not seeing any problem at all and stating that the 90s were terrible, so we should just sit back and be glad with what we have seen during the last decade.

In my opinion, the program is sliding back to a sub par level and if not arrested soon, further than that. If you are happy with the direction of the program, fine. But please don't feel the need to tell me and others what our standard bearer should be.

since you can't see the future, don't tell me how far we're going to fall. there is no direction in college football. it's a series of ups and downs.

But that's ok for you to do, right?

Well, I'm more happy with the direction of 9-3 in the regular season, 3rd in the SEC, and nationally ranked like we had last season as opposed to 7-5, 7th in the SEC, and not ranked which we saw in 08. Shoot me, but I see a 2 game advance in the SEC in 09 and a 2 game regular season advance as a positive move and not a negative one.

I have never said that cause you would have to be blind not to note problems when you go from a NC season to a 7-5 regular season. It's not that we don't see them, its that we don't bitch and moan over them 24-7 and we don't think it's impossible to return to SEC west champs and more. We might not be able to, but I don't know that as of this point in time and neither do you.

yeah, let's let miles go and go after all of those coaches that are available. who's going to want to come here if we treat him like they did mcclendon, who they later named a building/facility for ! not trying to be grammatically correct here, for all here who are faint of heart in that regard ! count me in for miles...........!

I call bullshite on this. There is a series of players that come and go, but there are always directional pointers regardless of what type of program one wants to examine. The direction of this program is going down based on the performance of first the defense and now the offense the last two years.
