I disagree. There is at least a handful of assholes who don't want Miles to succeed so they'll be proven right about him.

We've already been proven right about him. Just rewatch the last few minutes of the Ole Miss and Penn State games. I don't know how anyone can watch those two games and come away thinking that Miles is a good coach.

IMO, Miles will be fired from LSU, it's just a matter of time. I hope it happens sooner rather than later, before too much damage is done.

So those two games nullify all the success he's had at LSU and OSU? typical.

You guys are the type of fans all the media constantly make fun of.

No doubt there were thousands who were "happy with" and supportive of Hallman, Dinardo and Stovall, at the time, simply because they were incumbant LSU coaches.
And in whatever terms were in use at the times, thsoe who disagreed were thought to be "Haters" or "negatigers" or "fair weather fans", when none of those terms were appropriate.
I support LSU, like Les Miles AND wish we had a new head coach.

NO, he's not proven to be worse than the Zooker

The people I'm talking about decided before our first season was over that he wasn't a good coach. To people like you, it's not about results.

If it happens, it's not going to be anytime soon.

Never said I didn't like the guy. He is a great person. Maybe TOO nice a guy, His team reflects it. There is NO nasty streak.

If he went 14-0 I would applaud him and say great job. In fact an AWESOME job. Cause THAT is what it woulds take.

FWIW, the LSU athletic department, which is primarily fueled by the football program, has never been healthier ... LINK

While it remains to be seen whether Miles is a good or great coach (I'll go with good for now), Saban and Miles - together - have cemented the LSU football program into national prominence, and the elements are in place for it to remain there for the forseeable future.

I don't need to provide a link. You know what I'm talking about.

You're not. There are plenty of people who support the university, and not just the team, through good times and the bad. You're not one of those people.

Because it's a part of your self-esteem. You like to think you are educated and a great LSU fan and neither is true and that's now a problem for you, emotionally.

I agree with this, and this is probably my biggest concern with Miles. Everyone talks about and complains about player development and gameday coaching, both of which I believe to be overrated at the college level.

College football is all about talent and emotion IMO and everything else is lagniappe. If Miles does end up getting run out of town, I believe it will be because of the reason you mention, not because of his gameday coaching or his player development. Hopefully TonyG and Frank Wilson can bring that fire back to the sideline that we lost when Pelini left.

What I mean is you don't like him as a coach. And you don't deny it either and the results have nothing to do with it.

But, you wouldn't be a Miles fan, to the point you hope he succeeds and stays around. You made that up in your mind long ago. We both know you don't like him as a coach regardless of the results. Why? Because he's different in style and personality than Saban.

Rocket, weren't you anti-Miles for awhile at the beginning of his tenure?

He is also NOT AS GOOD!!!! IMO!!!

Bottom line is I like Saban better as a coach than Miles. You are the opposite. That doesn't at all mean I am not an LSU fan.

I was never anti-miles. I've never called for his termination. But, it took me until about the middle of the 2006 season to warm up to him. I didn't flip about in 2008 as we looked unmotivated and listless at times. And I didn't go off on him this year. Two of the games we lost(UF and Bama)were hard fought games.

I do have concerns going forward though.

long as Saban is coaching Alabama, it will probably get worse.

What the hell has Saban done to LSU to make you all piss your pants at the mere mention of his name?
I'd be more worried about Meyer and the 5* cropfield he OWNS. Saban barely beat one of LSU's worst teams of the decade and was getting whipped at home last year until, ......well you know the rest.
Freakin grow a set already!

CLM is not the kind of coach to really turn things around for the better.

I don't think it's fair to expect SEC titles 2yrs removed from the QB progression interupt.
If Miles doesn't recover from the RP/Pellini thing in next year or 2, I'll say the same line.

He might not be, that doesn't mean he's as weak as Mike Dubose or Hallman.

Unlike you, results matter to me. He doesn't have to be as good as Saban. As long as the results are good, it doesn't matter how dynamic of a coach he is or isn't, especially in comparison to Saban. We can't say the same for you. Stuck in your trailer, you need the LSU football coach to be someone you can live vicariously through.

We know this.

No, I'm not. Just because I don't think he's the weakest coach in the SEC doesn't mean I'm the opposite.

If your optimism about the future of the program and whether or not you want LSU to succeed is affected by who the coach is, you're not as hardcore as you think. You're a weak fan, PeeJay. Sorry I have to break it to you.

The people I am talking about can't see past 51-15, 51-15, 51-15.

If my car is faster and handles better than everyone else's, that in and of itself doesn't mean I'm a great driver. It just means I've got a great car. In your "results only" world, you leave no room for real evaluation ... only 51-15. Miles drives his Ferrari into Tiger Stadium and barely beats Dooley and his Malibu. His Ferrari should run circles around that Malibu, but instead Miles bangs if off the wall a few times, swerves down the straight away, fumbles with the keys trying to get the car restarted and barely eeks out a win. Does that make Miles a great coach? I don't think so.

It HAS to be about more than just the results. You have to put into the proper context. The fact of the matter is, the deeper we get into the Miles regime, the worse this teams looks. We are a disorganized mess, we lack discipline and attention to detail. As our talent level normalizes and Les no longer fields physically dominant teams, we look more and more ordinary. If you are happy with a mediocre football team, Les is your man.

So, you have no opinion on who is the better coach?

Or, you have an opinion, but will not share that opinion with the rest of us?

I'm happy with Miles as long as he produces a team that can compete for SEC titles every couple years. With this comes MNCs or at least a shot at one. In this league, expecting anything else is kin to a kid wanting a new car every year.
Did somebody expect a SECC in '08? I did not since too much was lost from '07. I didn't expect one for '09 due to Gumps and Tebow. I did expect only 2 SEC losses and that Ole Piss loss still turns in my gut. '09 was still a big improvement and we were in every game except UF.
LSU isn't falling off a cliff and the sky isn't falling.
I wont come on here spewing hate for the coach that just 2yrs ago gave us our 2nd title in the decade, after waiting fricking 5 since the last one.

Deep breaths, man, deep breaths.

We've had some issues the last two seasons. Those issues may or may not be resolved the next two years.

If they are, we'll win games and all be happy. If they are not fixed, we will lose games, get a new coach and move on. I just don't understand the constant back-and-forth that seems to be going on regarding Miles. Either we'll get back on track or we won't. We'll all get to see come the 2010 season and beyond.
