PM actually had Jordan ahead of Adams. Said "Adams would have to wait his turn". whatever that means.

That's why when I was listing them out I said "if Jordan doesn't hold onto the DH spot he'll backup Deichmann"

Gotcha. Just sounded like PM was kind of disappointed in Adams. Hopefully that changes.

Oh he no doubt he's been in a daze since coming to campus. For his sake I hope he gets it back together to help the lineup.

Taking a sneak peek into Deichmann’s game it’s immediate he shows all five tools

Has there ever been a 5 tool first baseman?

Why has he moved away from the left side of the infield? Serious question as I don't go to the scrimmages.

"Jewel bat from 2014 class".... No hits in 2015

"Shows all 5 tools"... Rated 55 in two of them

Did the last two years... Was fun. I welcomed discussion in mine. That's all I'm doing here.

It's extremely extremely rare, think someone like Jeff Bagwell they don't come around often. This isn't meant to say Greg is a first baseman, he's not, he'll project as a 2nd in the MLB Mainieri is simply fitting pieces into the puzzle to make the lineup work.

Has he been beaten out at 3rd base? I figured the high school shortstop would have been able to slide one spot over.

He split time between 3B and 2B on his summer league team.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I enjoy your comments ell, here are my "serious" responses.

8 at bats and 3 BB's coming off an ankle injury as a freshman in a sport where repetition is vital...please

A five tool player is someone who shows the ability to field, throw, run, hit, and hit for power at an above average mark. I think Greg possess those attribtues.

I agree. I didn't take you post to mean that he currently is a 5-tool player, just that he had the potential to be. He is still young, but the potential to be a 5-tool player is not something that you can say about a lot of players.

Fraley is the only solid left handed hitter in the line up.

Deichmann and Duplantis look to be the two LH hitters.

idk any of these guys, but I hope Deichmann can be productive because someone has to set up and give us one more LHH.

To expand and be a little more serious. Arm strength, like speed, isn't often improved upon at this stage. He has excellent arm strength who's a better fit defensively on the left side partly for that reason. It's one of that 5 tools he already has and I found it funny that you site that, yet give him a 55.

And the opposite can be said for his hitting for average. Again one of the 5 tools. Yet this one he doesn't have. And it doesn't look close. You laugh at his no hits last year, but he hit 0.239 in the Northwoods this summer, with a 0.176 average in his last 7 games alone. So you say this is a current rating, but this is higher than arm strength and fielding?!

I was high on Deichmann last year. Even then he was hitting some of the deepest balls out of right center in scrimmages. Thought he would make a push for DH/3B.
