I can’t keep up with who is hurt on our OL.

Could someone summarize who is currently in/out, and an expected date for us to be at full strength?

I’m curious about our health at other positions as well.

Thanks in advance

Not at all, and I’m not even sure why you presume that. I’m hopeful we are healthy for the big games ahead of us.

I would presume that because this is the rant. Keep reading.

Charles will be back next week. Brumfield not sure. So we should be ok. Everyone else is there except the obvious Ingram.

IIRC

Charles is week-to-week;
Brimfield is out a few weeks;
Magee appears to be back.

Everyone else is healthy for the most part.

firstly, by Oct an offensive line is all banged up in the SEC. Anyone who plays gets banged up. And it will stay that way till late Dec.

because of above, we will not ever be full strength until bowl game. Your idea of full strength must be adjusted. My idea of 'full strength' is having 1 of 2 deep playing at their intended position. If you are playing an OG at OT (or vice versa) because you have to (didn't practice for it until that week), you are below full strength.

Best guess:
Ingram (OG)- eh, don't get your hopes up
Brumfield (OG)- probably not next week
Cush (C)- will start next week
Magee (OT)- injury still to severe to be effective; expect to be available next week but limited
Hines (OG)- banged up but playing significant time

And most importantly... Charles (OT)- nothing but a guess, but I say 'questionable' for UF. He was 'doubtful' for LTU. They can't afford to bring him back too early.

If we had everone full strength who would you start?

I like

Charles at LT. Magee at right tackle. Lewis and ingram at guard. Cush at center.

Cush is fine. He will be back. Also he came back into the after. So he is good to go.

Hard question to answer in a vaccum:

One would assume if we had Ingram he would start at RG. Do you sit Brumfield, even when he had bad games/series? No. And they like Lewis. He's still got issues at 2nd level and sometimes getting out of stance (DL shoots past him) and penalties. He's improved in all areas and cleaned up some of the penalties. So Ingram over Lewis; but that's a difficult one.

Charles at LT, Cush at C, Brumfield at LG are a given.

So that just leaves RT....
Where we stand today: Deculus. He's not where he needs to be, much less where we want him to be, but he's progressing towards the ceiling we think he has. It was pretty much a competition with Magee for that spot after Traore's showing in the spring game. Magee had a slight edge at that time. But Deculus is a different OT now; one can never argue against improvement with good enough results. I've always thought it was an experience thing with him (Magee too). It's no surprise with each game his performance improves. Unfortunately for Magee, who is in parallel with Deculus, he's not getting that experience.

So I'd start Deculus, playing Magee 25-40% of the snaps to get him better too. We need 'quality depth' and Magee needs the reps to stay with Deculus and provide that depth.

Traore has come a long way. He needs more reps too; he missed a lot of camp due to injury. But he has other issues to work on also. He's much better, but still needs to significantly improve technique until he can up his agility, balance, and footwork in the offseason to be 'SEC starter quality'. With some scheming help, he's doing good enough. I don't see the glaring technique errors he used to once have. He still gives up straight shots to the QB every now and then.

They started Magee at LT last night even though he is not 100%. That tells me the staff trusts him a little more than Deculus. I agree they are very close, but that was with Magee still banged up. Ingram is supposed to be our best lineman and cush is playing like our best lineman so I have those guys in. That leaves either Brumfield or Lewis. For me that is very close, but I like Lewis a little better to start games. I do think we would have a top 3 to 5 SEC offensive line if we had all our players available.

that was confirmation they trust Magee more than Traore. Deculus started at RT.

However, Traore played quite a bit. The thing I took from that was that Magee's injury is still hampering him too much.

ETA: worth noting, both Traore and Magee were holding machines last night getting beat upfield. Refs weren't calling it. Same for OM's RT. But a couple of those holds saved Burrow's arse.

Maybe... and this is one of my pet peeves... an arm-bar is NOT a hold. If OT sticks his arm out as he is getting beat it is not a hold. Everybody thinks is is. It becomes a hold when rusher is past your hips (i.e. from behind). But if you don't literally clench/grab anything, a lateral fully extended arm not from behind is not holding. I couldn't see close enough, but that might be what was happening.
