If it is at all possible to play the game, it will be played on Saturday. You can bet on that. Moving games affected the Tigers negatively in the past, so they aren't going to do it again unless absolutely forced to. Losing your one open date is a hard thing to get over, and this year's team has a legit title shot.

I know this sounds callous, and it isn't my personal choice. This storm will negatively affect people's lives, and that is more important. However, I just believe that, if the LSU athletic dept gets to make the call, they are going to play the game, no matter what.

I'll take any ban bet from all who haven't been in the storm yet....I've been in both.

Dude I am pulling for the game to be played and I hope you are right about that, it's been one long arse summer and I wanna see some LSU football this Saturday.

All I am saying is Gustav was a bad storm for BR and the winds were not that much different than this one and moved a lot faster through both. Yes I was and am currently in BR for
both. Power just went out over here in Southeast BR btw.

Fair point, but I'm not sure I agree with your premise--that the LSU AD is the decision maker. LSU Administration, together with state and parish officials, will tell Alleva and company what can and can't happen.

One thing that stood out to me this morning from Coach Miles was how he mentioned North Texas being able to fly in Friday. It sounds like as long as that happens, the game will atleast be played at some point this weekend.

Very doubtful at this point there will be a game Saturday....expect an announcement one way or the other Thursday, but there are going to be widespread and prolonged power outages once the storm really moves into BR

Weather is pretty bad in Lutcher. If what we got comes to Baton Rouge, no game on Saturday.

Hopefully I'll run into you while I'm down there. I'm staying at Shea's this weekend and all next week so I can hit both games.

Granted, but that's why I said IF the athletic department gets to make the call. That assumes that things aren't so bad that entire parish is shut down. If the powers that be above the AD don't absolutely force the decision, they will play.

With Washington coming in on Saturday? Don't think so. Virginia Tech's recent loss to James Madison should be all the cautionary tale that anyone needs to see when it comes to stupid scheduling decisions. A good VA Tech team coming off a close loss to Boise St got beat by a FCS team that couldn't even compete on that level. Why? Because they were stupid enough to play a tough game on Monday with another game that next Saturday. You can't do that in college football, no matter who you are playing.

Also believe moving the game to before the Alabama game will help keep us fresh since North Texas are not a threat. Call it more of a tuneup I for one dont like all that downtime...

My guess would be a Monday game. You can't afford to blow your open date. We have ours prior to bama
And they dont. You can't blow an open date on a north Texas. Hell Katrina was much worse and we did it on a monday. I am hoping for a Monday game I could make that!
