Not to mention the fact that if we're using total defense, why are we not using total offense? It's because LSU would be 4th in the SECw in total offense, isn't it.

You guys need to make up your mind on which stats matter and apply it to both

Exactly.

So you think removing ot stats for defense will move lsu ahead of Bama and or state? Lol. I am not sure it would even jump them ahead of Auburn in scoring defense, but that's possible. I don't really care if 3rd or 4th in secw.

Your entire stance on the offense is that they aren't that bad because they are 3rd in the SECW.

Which is it?

ETA: Here are the facts:

You've cherry picked stats that paint the offense in the best light possible, and then turned around and cherry pick stats that paint the defense in the worst light possible.

Your agenda here is clear.

Look man, you can list, twist, turn, add, remove all the stats you want. The bottom line is that the LSU offense was not good this season (except for the Georgia game). Some games the offense was down right terrible, against really good defenses and against really bad.

To the other poster that questioned removing Alabama, it was done because many on here argued that LSU was pathetic in all games, not just Bama. Most would think OM and a&m had better offenses, but the numbers here don't support that.

Bull crap. I knew Ole Miss couldn't score (but racked up a lot of yards), and Miss St was done for when they played any defense with a pulse. TAMU has been mediocre like us except they had a good RB. Auburn has been bad too, Arkansas has been good at nothing.

The fact of the matter is that you guys feel like this is acceptable to be as bad as every other team offensively. I don't give a crap about the other teams offense, I give a crap if LSU's offense is good period, and it's not. You can check my post history all you want on that.

LSU finished 2nd in the secw in points scored in 8 conference regulation games. 100% fact.

I haven't cherrypicked defensive stats, they were third in the secw and it is clear.

I haven't once argued lsu had a good offense or a bad defense. Just presented facts

The sad thing is that you have lost your mind arguing against anything positive lsu offense. It's like it pisses you guys off. Yeah, real objective fans. My agenda? I'm not a stooge trolling for someone else here like you.

But why are you using points scored to say the offense is the 2nd best in the SECw, but using total defense to say where the defense ranks?

As long as you only use 66% of the season, sure.

Using conference games only is cherry picking. Dumbass.

Slanted statistics =/= facts.

53rd ranked offense in the country in S&P+
45th ranked scoring offense (including 41 OT points).
78th ranked total offense.
58th ranked rushing offense.
81st ranked passing offense.
69th in 3rd down efficiency.
107th in red zone TD percentage.

These are true statistics. Not slanted to paint the offense as something that it's not.

No stats support LSU defense ahead of two top 10 units in what was considered a down year for Aranda and co?

SHOCKING!

So tell me that you would gladly swap MSU's defensive players with LSU's, and be 100% confident that the defense would be better than what we saw this season at LSU, with our offense being the same?

Ahhhh, so what you are saying is the 8 conference games where all the division teams play the same teams(outside of lsu having the two toughest cross division opponents) doesn't really represent accurate stats. We need to focus on the nonconference games. Got it.

So, they don't actually play the same teams then? Got it.

You keep using 1 or 2 stats from 66% of the season. I'll keep using S&P+, which uses every metric available.

So, then answer. You think if MSU's defense was wearing LSU gear, with the current LSU offense, they would be better than our defense this season?

Wanna know why you are refusing to give an answer? Because you know damn well LSU's defense stacks up very well next to MSU's. So, what does that mean? It means the offense is a big part of the reason our defense struggled at times. And admitting that would mean your whole thread is absolutely stupid (which we have been trying to tell you for hours now).

Msu had a better d than lsu. Not debatable.

LSU had a better offense than msu.
