It is simple. My opinion after seeing plenty of Daniel's, is that he is a good QB but an average passer. His elite running ability makes him a good QB. But his mid-range passes are not accurate, he often doesn't hit the receiver in stride, and he often waits a split second too long to release the ball. He can hit on some of his deep passes, but normally when the receiver is wide open. I don't get on here and bash him. We can win a lot of games with him. But he is what he is, and doesn't have elite passing skills. I will support him if the coaches keep him on the field.

I don't disagree with but I do think it's often overemphasized. Even NFL QBs fail to hit the receiver in stride a great deal of the time. Chemistry between WR and QB is just as important as accuracy. Remember Brees' first years with the Saints when he had Colston, and then Graham? So many times Brees was in trouble and on the move and he would throw what he knew was going to be an ugly pass but he had that guy. So far Daniels hasn't found that guy. And chemistry is a two-way street. That lack is on Daniels as well as the receiving corps.
As far as long balls I think of how everyone raves about how Jamar Chase plays the ball in the air. He's building a strong case as the greatest ever with the ball in the air. But he's building that case on the back of all the ugly long balls that Burrow has thrown his way that he's caught and scored on. Again, chemistry and trust.
I think Daniel's biggest weakness is a limited ability to find receivers once he's on the move. He can throw on the move well enough when he does find them but more often than not he doesn't. I don't know if that's fixable other than just staying in the pocket longer. With his quick feet it seems he should be better at sidestepping a rusher and buying time for the pocket to reform, which it often will. But he's definitely too quick to take off.
