The day he gets the start for the bowl game, we get a commitment from his competition for the starting job next year.

AJ Swann from Vandy has 15 games of experience on him, but at least Nuss gets the opportunity to show us what he can do in the bowl game.

I’m pulling for Nuss and I think he’s more than capable of being our starter in 2024. Competition is good though & we needed more experience/depth in the QB room.

Should always be the toughest of competition. I bet he welcomes it.

They brought in Swann because they have full belief in Nuss. What they don’t have is full faith in rolling with 3 QBs on roster and two inexperienced backups, Swann is easily the best we could’ve gotten who would be okay not starting

How is that Nuss can’t catch a break??

If you play for a major SEC program you expect competition. It’s all a major part of being a member on a big time program.

True warriors embrace competition, they don’t shy away from it.

Dude Shut The frick Up.

This is Nuss’s team. Swann is a low rate insurance policy.

I’m sure he expected them to bring in someone from the portal. Just commenting on the timing of it.

JD opts out. Nuss becomes starter.
Same day we get a commitment from his competition for next year

Nuss is owed nothing. If he can’t beat out the Vandy qb, then he was never good enough.

Best comment so far. Nuss will get the reps first but if other guys are better then maybe the nuss bus just had flat tires.

Is this one of those things that the rant just makes up and runs with?

I’ve seen this countless times today, but never from Mr. Swann himself

Mr. Swann definitely plans on coming in & getting playing time next year. The only thing he was guaranteed was a chance to come in & compete

This guy was brought in to push Nuss but ultimately be the backup

If Nuss is scared of competition he doesn’t belong here

If you can’t beat out a Vandy qb then you shouldn’t be the guy.

Here’s your “break”. Go out and win the job.

Nuss is ready for it

Swann has experience but I would say learning from a Heisman winning QB for 2 years also helps

Excited to see what he does in the bowl game and next season

it's great for Nuss and great for LSU.
We have an experienced QB if the starter is injured.
I Suspect Nuss is more comfortable with a reliable backup. He has proven his devotion to LSU. He has a great team attitude.

Did Nuss say he was afraid of competition?

You haven’t seen Swann play obviously. Nuss will be fine!
