Our tight ends cannot catch, they have stumps for hands and fingers.

WE know Dickson and Sean Smith are very average pass catchers and terrible blockers and that Gordon and Stokes while possibly good blockers really aren't a receiving threat. But what about Jeter? He looks the part. Would like to throw some passes his way and see what he can do.

Your premise is faulty. Gordon has excellent hands. But he can't catch what is not thrown. Dickson and Smith just need opportunities. You don't give up on that phase of the game because of a dropped ball or fumble. It's like stop throwing passes because of an interception or stop running the ball because of a RB fumble.

When a player drops a pass you should go right back to him. Remember Lafell, Bowe and countless others who had the dropsies. Lafell even threw the ball to a DB. Glad we didn't stop throwing to him. Drops and fumbles on occasion are a part of the game. You don't give up on plays or players because of them. Same thing with the screen, we can't give up on it because it wasn't executed properly.

Disagree. Every receiver drops a ball now-n-then but their track record suggest their both great pass catchers.

I haven't seen anything to indicate they are anything special from either one of them since they have been at LSU. Probably the reason the staff went searching for a TE and found Jeter. Would like to get him involved in the offense and see what he can do.

I think you may be grasping at straws there bud.... at Least I really hope you are. While I cant explain the Jeter recruitment, I am firmly of the belief that DeSean etc just need more reps and more game time. As someone else pointed out here, I think displaying confidence in their abilities by going back and throwing to them after they drop a catch or fumble, and giving them enough opportunities to develop their skills and confidence should be all that's necessary for people like Desean Smith, Jacory etc.
Not many (and that's a massive understatement) from HS come into college and have hands like Gates or Graham from day 1. And that's part of what makes College Football so great. You see guys that "sucked" and leave as 1st rounders and go onto have amazing NFL careers.

Ultimately, all arguments are valid. But I am a Tiger at heart. I want each athlete we recruit to be a super-star for LSU and go onto become All-American's and have beastly NFL careers. The Ultimate goal as far as I am concerned is that we have EACH starter drafted to the NFL. Gosh...IS THAT too much to ask!!!

Ensminger is the tightends coach. No need to say more.

Who has absolute control over the game plan and calls all of the offensive plays?

You are an idiot.

Who cares. LSU's passing game the last few years is the best it's been since Russell/Flynn, but everyone wants to complain about the tight ends. I'm not the biggest Miles fan, but I doubt he and Cam are sitting around thinking, "boy, we have some great matchup advantages with these TEs, but darn it, the TE is for blocking only."

That would be Cameron.
