it seems like it was 2006

He had his most carries and TD's pre-Crowton in the second half of 2006.

Ok. There is something to this, a component that is a coaching problem then. Because if he has a record season for one coach, and crap for a season under another, then they arent adjusting to his talents. But whats the other components? Obviously the whole offense and the coord can't be expected to adjust to a kw-- they have to meet somewhere. So maybe he was slow to meet halfway and that pissed crowton off? Because if he is in someone's doghouse, its crowton, especially if he had a great year just prior to crowton taking over.

I would be extremely surprised if the whole "Keiland is in Miles's doghouse" rumor is true.

It's 100% true.

Hester still got a lot of action at the end of Jimbo's time, but maybe Jimbo was more of a hot-hand guy while KW was producing.

MAYBE...

With Crowton, KW may have fit more in his early spread, but Hester was much more of a complete back, so he was still on the field in some spread situations and proved very effective in Miles-type running plays. When you can count on someone as much as you could count on Hester, why bother doing a ton with Keiland. He was then an effective change of pace and situational back. Scott was nothing to sneeze at and showed promise with the Kentucky game and was the obvious candidate to take over the Hester role with KW staying in the KW role.

This is just my speculation. It seems to make sense to me and doesn't involve fumbles, attitude, or doghouses. I could be WAY off.

This is plausible. Crowton could have been spoiled by having someone as well rounded and do-it-all as hester, and may be obsessed with finding another-- all the while overlooking the kw right in front of him.well, crowton will have to go in the kw direction some now because ridley can't do it all.

So instead of Scott taking over Hester's role and KW still having the KW, change of pace back...

KW's role was diminished and Scott took the role of "the guy" running the ball. This all makes sense now. jk

I'm not one of the "fire Crowton" crowd, but this is definitely something that has bothered me during Crowton's tenure. This and the option to the short side of the field.

keiland is not as bad a running back as many on here make him out to be nor is he this underutilized super stud that others make him out to be.
