I have one of the non personalized LSU plates that they started producing in 08 I believe. It has tounces with LSU under it and has the reflective tiger stripes behind the numbers.

Mine is older than that. My original LSU plate number was in the 1300 number group.

It has the same tiger head that's on the football helmets (not Toonces) with the tag number next to it. Louisiana is at the top with Louisiana State University on the bottom with two stacked gold stripes.

The old plate was $130. Is that on par?

I paid $145 ($1 convenience fee to write them a check.)

I chose to have it expire next month (birthday month) so that everything expires at same time. I don't know, but assume that adding another month contributed to the cost.

Can you request certain number or letters?

If you go get a license plate in person, they will allow you to pick within whatever number series they have at that location. They tried to give me 551 and I passed on that one. I imagine that the main OMV on Independence has zero or one to 499. Livingston had number 500 and up.

It was my guess that each OMV got a few hundred to start... maybe 500 at each satellite location until all the OMVs have them in stock.
