Just make the player wait till the next possession

Exactly he goes back in when the defense is on the field next time around after all the poor fellow is hurt so let’s get him off the field in the tent and have a look maybe even go in for x-rays after all he is ‘hurt’..

The first offense will see the head coach receive a public reprimand, along with a $50,000 fine.

Fine the player since they are paid professional athletes now.

There have been plenty of instances where a QB has been shaken up and is able to come back after a play or two (or a time out is used for them to come back immediately).
Why is an offensive player faking an injury to slow their play down?

Also, if they spend the time out then they shouldn't be penalized. Defenses are faking these injuries so the don't have to use a timeout to get their changes in.

I don't see an actual scenario where the offense gains an advantage by a player faking an injury, with the exception being late in the play clock.

Write the rule where defensive players sit out either the remainder of the series or a minimum number of plays.
