Gfunk: what's your football background? Good analysis.
I watch a lot of it. No, seriously.
I haven't played since Junior High. I was a pretty good Hoops player other than topping out at just under 6-0 and coming up as a post-player, LOL. Couple that with starting a lifelong love affair with double cheeseburgers later in my HS years, and my athletic achievements reached their high point around my sophomore year.
No, I watch football, and I used to not be able to stand it when my Dad picked parts of the game out and described them to me. I wanted to see the game that way, as well. So, I started searching around and watching things online, and reading stuff.
If you wanna increase your knowledge base, Brophy Football Blog is a great thing to Google. Chris Brown runs the Smart Football blog. He's the tits, as well.
Just a starting point. I know hardly anything about the game, but I like learning more, that's for sure.

Thank you for a real analysis and not another useless thread about swagger, honey badgers, and WVU fans.
I agree with all of your points. most rant idiots have no idea what certain off/def schemes are designed to do. they simply bitch about pressure, yards given up, and the like. they cant understand that just because you can run the same blitz 500 times in a row on PS3 or Xbox, doesnt mean that translates to real football.
that being said, hatcher is a liability in man, zone, or run support. he has gone straight downhill from solid fr/soph seasons. he reminds me of danny McCray. no offense to these guys, they are just not on the same level as the other guys around them.

bullshite. The 70 yard catch was hatchets man In Coverage. He tackled him because he chased him for 70 yards.
That receiver wasn't Hatcher's man, why would Chavis cover their best, fastest receiver with our LB. I've watched that play ten times, you can clearly see a cornerback lining up on him before the play was snapped, Hatcher was covering in the midddle.
