Here's the deal. Some of the posters who are talking have a very accurate history with these things. So, I'll believe them....and ignore the Noles fan.

It's Tom Herman........ We get him while Texas is slow to move Strong.

I think LSU has his replacement in hand. You don't ask boosters to pony up 15 million bucks without knowing what the next step is.

All of these guys have jobs currently. Is it possible we currently have a handshake agreement with one of them? Sure, but it's not very likely. Typically, Coaches who are currently employed wait until the job is actually open so they can use both schools against each other to drive up their price. Unless of course they hate the place their at for one reason or another. I am not aware of any of these coaches having that much beef with their administrations that they are willing to give up that particular negotiating tactic.

2. Negotiations for Miles replacement began (through agents, attornies, etc.) began several weeks ago. An agreement in principle, including virtually everything but signing the contract, has been reached.
You mean Les had this agreement in place when he was 7-0 or 7-1 and still in contention for the SEC West/National Championship? That is just flat out ridiculous.
Don't take this to mean that i am against getting rid of Miles. For your own sanity though, you need to understand that whether we fire him on Sunday, a year from now, or he retires 5 years from now, it is very unlikely that we will have the next guy ready to sign on the dotted line before Miles is even out the door. Unless your top candidate is somebody who is not currently employed (and god help us if that is the case), there is going to be some fingernail chewing and Flight Aware drama while he plays both sides to get the most $$$

Soooooooo, does that include you?
Yes, it does. I am doing nothing more that speculating and guessing. I've tried to make it very clear that I am just a fan with absolutely no connections or insider information.
Just enjoying the discussion. Thanks for allowing me to participate.

Herman is going to get a bigger gig sooner than later.
