Good Morning Tiger faithful. I will preface this by saying I've always been one to never get too high or too low off of one game. However, in my drunken stupor on Saturday I let off a ton of hot takes, both on here and via text. These include but are not limited to: Brennan is the worst QB I've ever seen, bench him for a true freshman, fire Pelini mid 4th quarter etc...

I created this thread to apologize and to shed light on some positives for those who don't want to continue sulking.

DEFENSE:
Ali Gaye - dude was great. always had his hands up on quick throws and was beating their RT all night. Lots of pressure and 3 passes batted down.
Jacoby Stevens - played like a true #7, it felt so good seeing a strip sack fumble recovery from a #7 again. It's been a while
Jabril Cox - obvious play was the pick 6 but he was all over. Got beaten a couple of times in man coverage but lets be honest who on the defense didnt lol.

OFFENSE:
Terrace Marshall - every bit as good as we remember. I think that as Myles gets more reps and starts to trust guys like marshall he'll start letting it fly and letting his guys go get the ball.
Arik Gilbert - Dropsies early but came on late. Going get that TD was a huge play, another guy who can go get the ball if Myles lets it fly.
Jaray Jenkins - legit weapon, got open a lot and made plays. Our receivers are really good.

Overall, I think as Brennan develops more chemistry with these receivers and gets more game reps we will see less of the hesitant double clutching. Just needs to learn to trust his guys to go get the ball. The defense will get better as the year progresses, and Stingley being back will help. As someone pointed out, in Bo's first stint in BR Arizona State torched us to the tune of 560 yards, but the D got much better that year.

Lastly, we have to give some credit to KJ Costello. I mean, I know we busted a lot of coverages, but even on those we didn't bust the dude was dropping some absolute dimes. (We did bust about 300 yards and 3 TDs worth of coverages though)

All is not lost,

Appreciate you owning up to it.

Pro tip: Stay away from your phone when drinking, that thing gets the best of us trouble, me included.

First of many of these posts we should be seeing!!

Agree with all of your points. Super excited to see more of Gaye. He was getting held and horse-collared about 1/3 of the time and never got a call (Thought the Bama game came early). Gilbert is going to be great. If we are going to expect him to help out with pass protection we’ll need to work with him a bit.

Defenders (DBs particularly) not swarming to the ball is an issue. Go back and watch the Harris missed tackle and it will have you wanting Flott and Ricks running wind sprints this morning

The story next Sunday will be all about how exaggerated the rumors of LSUs demise were.
