His grade was enough to pass and remain eligible before the grade appeal. LSU compliance was just a bunch of idiots and declared him ineligible. While the rule was being discovered Foster also appealed his grade which he won.
So as it stands he was eligible with a D but he also appealed the D and now has a C and the grade counts towards his major.
