I agree JBeam. Thats what I was getting at. The skill sets of players are apparent on the film. Lots to be excited about considering this is Spring ball, and there is plenty of time for further improvement until TCU.

Has anyone saw a highlight where the receiver dropped a ball or the pass was off target? These small peaks at practice, are showing passes and receptions that look good. Does everyone believe all are being completed every time?

There may be some people who do beleive that... but thats not everyone.
For those of us that know what we are looking at, beleive it or not... you CAN see certain aspects of a players skill set in these drills. If those skills aren't there, then there is ZERO possibility of them translating into good performances in game time situations.
Its really not that outrageous to say the film is impressive (limited film or not). For example, at the QB position, a little bit of film tells a big story regarding a QB's throwing mechanics. If all you do is watch the few times he throws in the spring practice film, he obviously has a very quick release with a good base.
If he didn't have a good base and quick release now, he wouldn't magically turn on the switch come game time. Conversly, Just because he has those aspects in spring practice doesn't mean he will be able to instantly translate that into a game, but it does mean that there is that possibility.

I'm not making an argument one way or the other, but these aren't highlights. This is from the 15 minutes of practice the media is allowed. There's no editing to show the best plays. In years past these clips showed mistakes and I'm sure they'll show mistakes this year too

You are saying a true thing! But poor mechanics were evident in years past. And made exactly no difference to the coaches. And it seems that the coaches were clueless on how to make corrections. Let's hope that these days are gone. And let us all hope that the so called play book doesn't have to be simplified because the QB was incapable of learning.

From what I have seen/read/heard, He doesn't lose any accuracy when he is on the run, AND he makes good decisions on the fly.
Throw in "Reading Defenses", "Going through progressions to find secondary receivers" and "Time/Clock/Game management" skills. If he can manage all that and still "Run real Fast", then he may be a keeper.
Little that's seen at practice is going to predict that however. We'll have to wait until he actually sees significant game action for the answer to those questions.
I've learned not to take anything seriously that's posted on here about how talented freshmen quarterbacks are in lieu of the most recent fascination over Russell Shepard a few short years ago and Gerard Randall most recently. How'd those two work out at QB for LSU?

Statements like these would be hilarious if they weren't made so often and so sincerely. :sigh:

I generally agree Braveheart. But I never saw anything on RS10's film that told me he had the passing mechanics to succeed at the college level. His HS film showed a top end athlete, not a top end QB.
I was just passing along what I had heard. How each person takes it and reacts to it is none of my concern. There are certainly posters here who would go over board with good reports on a QB four days into their first spring practice. I personally am excited for the potential. If it never materializes, it never materializes. But good reports are better than bad reports.

Lbs look fast. Diarse looks big! Jennings is quick and has a super fast release. If he can translate that to reading defenses and taking care of the ball then he has a very bright future. Team looks good, but it is just spring practice.
