No don’t think he comes back, already been injured twice, these pitchers are fragile armed athletes. I think he’s got to go try to make a living and career once he gets healthy

I think the school can be responsible, but isn't necessarily mandated to.

If he was drafted, he would have health insurance under the MLB organization that employs him (or the MLBPA) and would probably get better treatment and rehab that way.

Either way, I doubt Jaden Hill or his family would be paying any medical expenses.

So in my hypothetical Hill could decide not to go to the team that drafts him gif whatever reason and come back to LSU and be treated because the injury occurred while he was a Tiger.

He could rehab and go pro the following season when he would have fully recovered abd his stock possibly higher.

I’m glad the guy has options.

he’ll get picked early & overpaid for his slot

I don’t know much about this, but I find it illogical he would be overpaid. You overpay someone who has leverage. What is his leverage? Come back to LSU and don’t pitch next season?

Some guys have recovered in 9-10 months. By all accounts, Hill is a freak athlete so I could see him being one that recovers quickly - which would give him a chance to see some innings around the mid point of 2022. His leverage is that he grades out at as a high 1st rounder with alot of upside. I wish he would come back, but it would be way smarter to take the money and use MLB resources to rehab.

Not a chance. He might not even be ready for half the season next year if not more. He’d probably do better just going to the draft so he can continue his rehab with a big league team’s organization. I’d love him back but I don’t see it happening.
