Alabama game wouldn't be as hard to swallow if not for the defense going into a full on prevent from the opening snap of the drive playing 15 yards off the Bama WR's and the Safety's playing 25 yards deep. LSU conceded to Let Alabama get 10-15 yards a chunk and go right down the field
when do you ever see a defense not play prevent when they are up by more than 3 points with less than a minute left. Of course they will play prevent. It has a lot to do with the players not being where they were supposed to be. Go look at the film and you will see on Yeldons TD that JMills was completely out of posistion and cost us that play.

How come The Advocate has no updates on this? Do they like losing scoops to message boards?

*sigh*

I knew it wasn't going to happen, but I was holding out hope considering how long Montgomery was taking to declare.

A lot actually. Trying coaching football sometime it may actually help you understand football. LSU was not up by more than 3 points. LSU was up by 3. By playing prevent not only did they make it easy for Alabama to get in FG range but they allowed them to get close enough to score a TD, which they ended up doing. LSU played man to man in your face defense with their WR's and made them earn it and Alabama didn't piss a drop offensively the entire 2nd half until that last drive of the game. It's pretty easy to move the ball when the corners are playing 12-15 yards off the WR's and the Saftey's are sitting 25 yards deep. Not to mention they didn't send any pressure. The chief earned his reputation of 3rd and Chavis with that last drive.

you are correct they were up by 3. And I will agree and say that I dont completely agree with the prevent. But LSU would have been more comfortable with a FG than a go ahead score. We would have been at home with our loud crowd in OT and keep in mind we were destroying them all night minus that drive. You dont have to be a professional coach to understand that.
