Mitchell get out of the game. Byrd or C.Toliver should be going deep.
toliver did a deep backside post route...nobody & i mean fricking no one was even guarding him...no one even lined up on him at the LOS from the start of the play

Screw that. I think its about time to start calling out Miles
Agreed. No other LSU coach has ever accomplished as much as he has in such a short period of time.

Were you in a Coma during the 2002 season? Do you think LSU should have lost to UAB at home?

lsusteve you said;
I said I agree on the taking a hit part.....leadership doesn't come as easy for a young guy like Lee.
Remember a freshman QB named Tommy Hodson?
I do agree, there is alot of confushion this season due to the way it is played out. The CEO (manager) of any company should take that responsibility and live with.....Thus it is Miles that is at the top and therefore he should look inward, and then maybe corrections can be made. He's payed the BIG BUCKS, he should be the man!
Players will only play as well as they are prepared and properly disciplined in all facets of the game. We can argue all day on how the game was played, but who coaches thid team?

was it a bad pass? absolutely.
A ball that hit a receiver in the hands, a bad pass? No if Byrd wants to play on Sundays, shut up and catch the damn ball.

wrong..... a qb throwing into triple coverage, late and behind his receiver, who just by going for the catch and trying to save his qb from anther int is going to get hammered over the middle...
that was a bad pass... go watch it again...

Make no mistake, this was Miles loss not Byrd's or Lee's. This game reminded me of the 4 up the middle UK game. Miles gets handed one more chance to win a game and what does he do but toss it away trying to prove that the tail can wag the dog.
Lee threw the ball in OT because Miles told him to.

If you want to get the most out of personnel,
you must:
PRAISE in public
REPRIMAND in private
Yes, Miles is wrong in this case.

Just like your coach failed last year:
A 4-10 L49 Wilson RF pass incomplete to Keith Brown (Craig Steltz).

I'm confused! I thought at least half the people on here were all pissy because coach didn't give Jarrett Lee a total lashing in the post game presser?

OK but I think you missed my point.
LSU ran the ball better against bama than anyone has all year. Why take a chance in OT when your QB has given up 3 picks in a game you can win by running the ball.

maybe the uneducated in management half.....
You Never Reprimand in Public (identifying ONE individual)....not if you want to build them up. Also, coaches know (should know) which button can be pushed with each player and when....not everyone can handle it.
for a Readers Digest version of management, Get "The One Minute Manager" book or audio.
it is to the point.

only a guess...
but towards the end of the game we were not making that many yards against Bama, also, that close to the goal line, the field shrinks and the defense can bunch up.

Byrd is older and more experienced. He can handle the criticism. Lee can't. His confidence is a major problem, Byrd's isn't. It really looked like it was Byrd's fault anyway.

That is straight out of the self help book "How to Win Friends and Influence People", and used by Miss Manners.

Sorry, I did not remember that.
I read the Carnagie book about 20 years ago.
..damn I am getting old.
it was also one of the keypoints in
The One Minute Manager among others...it is just a basic principle...people automatically defend themselves when attacked in public and will not hear any of the argument.

I admire your optimism and hope you're right. However, for me, one decent defensive game adrift in a sea of shitty defensive games just isn't enough to restore confidence.
is has nothing to do with optimisim and hope.
i know what Miles and the co-dc's did to address the problem. My roommate is on the team (defense) and we discussed the situation and the coaches made major adjustments after players blew coverages in the georgia game.

Okay, I forgot the little green-faced dude, but I was being sarcastic with my post!
I think it's ironic that the same people all whining about coach saying something about Byrd's part of that INT, are some of the same posters that are all mad that the same coach didn't verbally dismantle the QB in the post game presser!

because it was 3rd and 6 and we ran the ball twice for a total of 4 yards
