I think he deserves, based on that and his performance to have all Tiger fans behind him.

but...but...but....sometimes he talks weird during interviews.....and he doesn't win 95% of his games....and in nearly 100 games he's made a few mistakes!!!!

A guy actually posted on TR that he should be winning 90%. That's when I decided there was no cure for a certain segment of our fanbase.

Unprepared, undisciplined, hard headed sticking with a terrible QB.

When will y'all ever realize both of our senior QBs were not that great. It's like every thinks we sat an All-American on the bench because of his over hyped contribution at the beginning of the season. We barely depended on Lee at the beginning of the season and his stats show that. We were a team based around running the ball and elite defense. Our biggest problem in the NCG was poor offensive game planning and very poor offensive line play.

The first part is true though and he deserves a lot of criticism for that. The worst performance came from the OL in that game IMO.

I know some of the fans with that attitude. Of course, most them were in hiding during the 90's. Bandwagoners.

I'm sure it goes without saying, but I'd give my left nut for Ark to find a coach as successful as Les that was loyal and could keep is willie out of the hired help.

I think that red carpet thing he had going was the extent of his mid-life crisis. He appears to have overcome it.

Oh nah, I was referring to CLM, not CBP...sorry, wasn't clear. Les must have been doing something to hair, made it appear reddish and like astroturf. Lately it's back to normal middle-aged gray.

Ahh, gotcha. I actually do recall that. Thought maybe you were referring to "red carpet" in reference to CBP because he was getting the star treatment at UofA...in more than one way.

Bombing 40 yard TD passes when a chipshot FG wins the game?

So it was a bomb of a pass, but only a chipshot fg?

I assume you are talking about the Auburn game in 07. The play of the final pass from Flynn to Byrd was started on the 22 yard line.

It would have been a 39 yard field goal. Chip shot? Probably not. Bomb of a pass? No.

The only poor thing about this play was that Flynn let way too much time off the clock before he snapped the ball. He got to the line of scrimmage and let about 10 seconds off the clock before snapping it. But whatever, the play worked and LSU won.

I don't feel the need to argue that Miles is a very good coach when his record easily does that, but this incorrect comment needed a response.

He doesn't suck but he is not an elite coach just average. He has traits that will always keep him from achieving top rank coaching ability.

That "average coach" has won 2 SEC Championships, 1 National Championship, won every bowl game he has coached in (save the Capital One and last year), and is 3 - 3 against the almighty Saban. 75 -18 record (.806 winning percentage). Sounds pretty average to me.

Saban has been at Alabama 5 yrs now.
In the past 5
Miles - 53 wins
Saban - 55 wins

Nick's Alabama teams have won 48 games in the last 4 years and lost only 6. He went 7-6 his first year.

Both teams will likely win at least 12 games this year. Tragic only one will go to SEC championship game and likely only one will be in BCSCG. These are the two best teams in college football but they are unlikely to meet again unless all other contenders collapse. I fear that either USC, OKLA, FSU or someone remains undefeated and plays the winner of the November game in BCSCG.

I also think the November game is a coin flip unless someone's starting QB gets injured. LSU favored at home. Mett could be difference maker if he receives protection. Bama pressure was the difference last year.

Has Mett ever been hit? How he reacts likely determines the outcome. If he is as tough as Tyler Wilson, LSU wins. If he is affected like Jarrett Lee, Bama wins.

If there are still LSU fans that don't think Miles is a top5-10 head coach, they don't deserve a winning program. Everyone wants to say that Miles inherited a great program from Saban, but they fail to recognize that MAINTAINING A PROGRAM IS HARDER THAN BUILDING ONE. Regardless of how shitty we did on Jan.9th, it doesn't change the fact that LSU went undefeated while playing one of the hardest schedules in modern college football history. No coach, in the history of football( pro and college), is perfect. All coaches underachieve. Just look at Saban's 2010 season. He had the entire 2011 defense,a senior qb ( whom ha already won a title), a first rd and Heisman winning rb, a top 10 pick wr, and a first rd de AND LOST 3 GAMES. We have a great coach that does make mistakes. Jut like every other team. Except out coach wins more than any other coach, since he's been at LSU. The haters need to shut up an embrace the GOLDEN AGE OF LSU FOOTBALL

I think the bigger gripe is the failure to give Mett meaningful snaps and to give him a shot against Bama. There was ample opportunity to really give Mett serious playing time so he'd be ready by the end of the year but instead the snaps were used on JJ running the ball.
