Look, my issues with Miles are about what we have seen happen. He's done a great job improving the offense like no one could have expected, especially with the loss of RP.

The fact still remains that their is a severe flaw with the defensive team this season and its obvious they have done nothing to change/correct if you watched any of the games this season. Some of the issues are execution, but much of it is scheme. It is still the coaches job to get the players to execute.

I am proud of Miles, and he's a great coach, but that doesn't make him above criticism as many of you state. I have seen nothing to suggest these issues will get fixed, and that scares me. I want to believe they will be corrected, but don't have faith in the two DCs given the pattern started last season.

I mean really guys. Give it some time before all of you start saying how terrible everything is. Everyone keeps saying adjustments haven't been made, but this is the first loss. Maybe the staff was scared to change too much when we were still winning. Give until after the USC game.

Dude, if a loss like this is what makes you start making changes, then Miles would be a horrible coach.

The writing on the wall with this scheme has been there for a season and a half. If we play a team with real athletes, they will bust the defense up.

It seems that Miles really does not get the issues with the defensive scheme that we are currently running as well as the men that run it. Reading some of his quotes, he lays everything on the players, and its starting to get old. I am a big Miles fan and have trusted his judgment in the past, but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

The problems with the scheme are NOT limited to just this season, but were obvious as soon as the South Carolina game a year ago. From that point on, teams have found ways to easily move the ball and score on LSU's talented defense.

Why is it so easy you ask? There are two major issues:

1) The defense has rarely brought pressure at the appropriate times. This was a trend that began with Pelini. Once in a blue moon he'd get it right, but often times our blitzes got nowhere much of the second half of last season.

2) Horrible personnel decisions and mismatches all over the places. We have LBers covering slot receivers. A safety playing speedy receivers in coverage (McCray) that can't keep up with them, and play to far off the ball half the time to make a play.

Reality is that Miles seems to refuse to ever admit that he has made a mistake. Despite everything, he's never accepted any responsibility (see offensive woes in 2006, defensive woes in 2nd half of 07 and now 08). He continually says the scheme is fine, but players are just making mental errors. Well, like tackles, if it is one or two players missing them its on the players, but when everyone on the team is missing them, its coaching. Plain and simple.

Reality is that Miles needs to realize that the system IS broke and needs to be fixed. I hope he figures that out soon.

If you sat down with Miles, he'd sit down and explains things to you in rational way that made sence to you. If you don't get this, you are an idiot. You don't know anything about football compared to someone who has made it to head coach of an major NCAA program.

Also, if we put you as head coach as LSU, I'm pretty sure we'd have a losing season. So please STFU with your moron opinions. You are an idiot.

Besides not agreeing with you continuing pessimistic outlook on the season, I find it ironic for you to point out someone calling another poster and idiot and then immediately call that poster a DA. Classic statement.

Miles has no clue what he is doing, you are absolutely right. He has proved time and again, in every big game, that he just doesnt get it.

You are right.

It is all Miles fault.

He should have kept RP and Odom and the other poisons on the team.

Win at all costs.

Keep the fans happy...damn anything else.

Please. Everyone send Fighting Tigers your login info and never post again. FT will take over all of your posting duties and give quality statements on your behalf... I have already sent him the e-mail and am just wasting time until he logs in as me. I suggest you all do the same. We are all idiots that will fail horribly at every endeavor we ever pursue and should all roll over peacefully.

We are all just giving opinions here. There is no need for everyone to name call. People have a right to disagree with me, and I respect that.

My post wasn't intended to say Miles is some kind of useless buffoon. I just worry that his loyalty will be an issue with this season. Going back to 06, he stubbornly kept playing JV and Broussard when they were unsuccessful. He did eventually change his tune when Williams came around.

As for his hiring, he's been 2 for 3 as of right now in my opinion. I think our special teams have been surprisingly strong, and then our offense has obviously been successful under Crowton. Defense I worry about simply because Miles is an offensive guy, and has less input on the defensive side. Hopefully if the scheme really is the issue (which I feel it is), then he'll take action to fix it at an appropriate time.
