"what, that our incompetent coach will start the wrong QB, who has obviously been overtaken by the new guy...or at least he would be overtaken if only the coach wasn't overprotecting his lil baby?"
Just so I know the ground rules, is the above considered bashing or not?
I've asked this before but I still haven't gotten a coherent answer.
What is the end game?
What will the daily criticism of Jefferson accomplish?
Will they change the past?
Alter the present?
Effect the future?
Why is it neccessary?
Even those of you who damantly defend the anti-Jefferson posts must see that they not plowing any new ground.
Why?

Conjecture at this point, but each to our own.

I think the reason for the continued posting is it is frustrating as hell for a good portion of the fan base to see JJ attempt to impersonate a qb.
This is the "The Rant" so people rant on here at the most obvious things that concern them about next years football team. In my mind and many others on here JJ has done virtually nothing to earn his position other than be a senior. His performance has been worse than atrocious. It irritates people even more to be told that JJ is playing so much better this spring and go out and see him look and perform like JJ of last season.
I for one am a Miles fan but his stubborness in sticking with an inept qb frustrates the hell out of me. I for one would love to see Mett start because I would be more than willing to bet he would put up better stats than JJ already and improve from there. I may be incorrect but I find it hard to believe that with Mettemberger playing the passing offense would be below # 100 this year. If JJ is the starter for the majority of the year I would be more than willing to bet it is below #100 again.
In summary he has been the worst qb I have seen start for more than one season in my history as an LSU fan. The first qb I saw start was Bert Jones so I have seen a couple. Some werent so good but none were as consistently as bad as JJ and continued starting and playing. Not to mention even the worst ones I can recall seemed to improve JJ has unarguably regressed!

isn't it a waste of time getting pre-pissed about something that hasn't played out yet? it should be pretty obvious to most that JJ was the better choice the past 2 seasons...although Lee's contribution last year was invaluable.

Do you really think the offense would have been worse than below #100 in passing with Lee starting? Not to mention seeing JJ on the sidelines sulking and pouting like he had been wronged for being taken out for sucking couldnt have helped team morale.
I know I am about to invoke the great Satan and I am more than happy that Miles is our coach but I am pretty certain that the sulking and pouting crap wouldnt have gone on very long under Nicky!

Kinda. No one knows what would have happened if LSU has a competent QB coach or another QB or two to compete.
What we have is what we have.

"pre-pissed"...now, that's original.

What does it matter? Does carping about it change history? Is it your position that Lee playing more would have resulted in better W/L records?

So what demeanor would be acceptable to you? Perhaps what you interpet as sulking is just his normal expression. In any case, what does posting this make any difference? Can you document any relationship between Jefferson's "sulking" had his effectiveness or team morale?

Apparently not or you wouldn't have written that sentence.
I have a question for you, ok?
Have you posted the identical objection(s) to Jefferson more than once?

Possibly, what would the team's record have been?

the same Nick Saban that scorned fans because Marcus Randall's mommy didn't like what they were saying about him?

This is proof?
Looks like more idle conjecture to me.
Will the person who posted this please stand up and provide a little proof?
What was the purpose of this response?
What does it matter?
If the things written are true, how does it change things?
If the person who wrote this is merely repeating the thoughts another post, why re-post it?
How does being concerned about next years football team translate into repeating what has been written many times before?
Does that lessen the concern?
How?

What purpose does it serve to continuously trash the guy? It's getting out of hand on here. Borderline embarrassing we have fans that will relentlessly trash players on the team that they claim to support.
Normally I would agree with you. But QB is a tricky position. And this is a tricky situation. We have a legitimate, national title contending team at 21 of the 22 positions on the field. Yet Jordan Jefferson would likely struggle to win the starting QB position at any top 50 program. That is to say that if JJ chose Kentucky, Colorado, Minnesota, Rutgers, etc. over LSU, he seriously might not start. JJ is so bad, every team in the West literally does not fear LSU ("sure we may only be able to score 10 points on them but holy shite, their QB is so bad that might be enough").
For anyone who obsesses about college football, this has to be the strangest position battle to watch in all of college football.
Bitching about JJ does no good except hopefully hasten the departure of JJ as LSU's starting QB.

No, but I do think its ridiculous that if you aren't leading the pitch fork and torch mob against JJ then you aren't allowed an opinion on here apparently. There isn't one good thing that comes out of constantly trashing JJ.
I can think of one...JJ on the pine.

Do SEC teams fear other teams?
Are the players afraid?
Big time college football players afraid?
Interesting picture to say the least.
I don't think that any SEC football player is afraid of any opponent. These guys are too full of self pride.

Every qb thread is full of the blatant hate posts. If you can call out everyone with a pro JJ post, why can't I call out the constant bashing posts? You are the one that takes pro JJ posts personally.
No one hates JJ personally. We just hate the way JJ plays the QB position. I actually feel somewhat bad for him. He's the best we've had for the past 3 seasons. And they keep trotting him out there to fail again.
Hopefully Mettenberger is all he is hyped to be and can end this travesty.

And Tiger fans have a problem with relentless, repetitive, ineffective QB play. For THREE YEARS!!!!

And posting against him will help him how?
If not what then? Wall to wall anti-Mett posts?
