And you don't agree that Miles should be held accountable for that? Really? When Tebow leaves Florida, a true freshman will not be starting there. Even lil' ole Arkansas loses a senior quarterback next season, but has a Parade All American and 5 star qb to replace him. There really is no excuse for a coach in the SEC to not plan ahead and prepare for the future at any position, especially at qb. Who is in charge of your recruiting down there?
This is an incredibly stupid and shortsighted remark. Miles got a 4-star qb committed with Flynn and RP already in place. Lee was realistically looking at 2 or 3 years worth of sitting on the bench to wait his turn. Unfortunately, he didn't live up to the rating this year and he may end up being a bust, but to say that the staff dropped the ball in recruiting him is absolutly ignorant. He was the top qb coming out of Texas taht year. Lee got put on the field at least 1, probably 2 years earlier than expected. Sometimes that happens. Oh, and by the way, the staff also got JJ, who I believe got bumped up to 4 stars after his HS Playoff run, with RP still on the team. He was looking at a VERY long line ahead of him, but they got him anyway. Recruiting doesn't always work out like the ratings predict, but there just isn't much to criticize here.

Yet, here you are. Left with no real viable SEC caliber options at quarterback.
I guess it's not anyone's fault then, and no one should be held accountable for it.
In the meantime, some other SEC competitive programs will be two deep at quaterback next season. Good luck dealing with that.
You Mile's apologists may need to start preparing excuses for 2009.

I think there is an interesting Dichotomy. On the one hand, Miles was considered lucky the past three years and was thought to have benefited from having so much talent. On the other hand, our Co DCs had a bunch of talent, but the defense still sucked. So, which is it? Even with alot of talent, you need good coaching,
?.. thus Miles has been a good coach? Or do you not need good coaching with great talent? ...which would make it unnecessary to get new DCs?

I think Les Miles is an upstanding, tough, "damn strong" coach who has had a few bad chain of events befall his team. When we were left with no experienced quaterback, he tried the best available option. His move to co-defensive coordinators in retrospect was not a good one, and I think he knows that. It just so happened that throughout this uncertain season, the team started to question its overall abilities and started to crumble. I too would like to see more fire from Miles, but I am confident he has the ability to come back strong and put a winning team in place. I think the man has heart and talent and only wants the best for his team and his fans. I'm in his corner one hundred percent. Would I have liked a better season- hell yes. Would I have liked a different coach- hell no.

I understand where you're coming from...there have been some pretty harsh commentaries about Miles on the rant as well as some from posters that refuse to accept that there are serious problems in the program..
I don't hate him. I think he's a great person with a lot of integrity. However, in his role as head coach of an elite college football program I do have serious doubts about his leadership abilities and decision making skills.
We all love the Tigers and want them to be successful with a great coach at the helm....it's up to Les to make it happen.
