Anyone know how much is left on Crowton's contract?
Not sure, but I do know he was given an extension and a raise last year.
I'm not sure how his is structured.

Les goes 7-5 (8-4 maybe) he's gone. This from a single digit taf person

I really wish 8-4 was definite, barring some bizarre circumstance.

7-5 I could understand. 8-4 with our schedule is tough. Suggests the big money boosters have the cash ready.

not saying i'm anything close to being an insider, but i've heard 8-4 depending on how the team plays. last night did not help miles case should this team go 8-4. it looked a lot like the game agasint tenn in 05.

quote:No because he would have beaten highly ranked teams like FLA and BAMA and a BCS team in the post season by 1 point. UNC is not Bama or FLA.
ust a question if we win all our games but they are close but still win a NC would you want miles fired because the games were close? Please inform me of what your logical thinking would be if this were to happen?
Winning by 1 point at Bama >>>>>> Winning by 1 point at UNC or Vandy. You do get that don't you.

I think the best shot at getting rid of Miles is if Michigan knocks on the door.
That's why I keep wanting Rich Rod to lose...but we might as well face the fact- we are stuck with Miles for another 2 years, win or lose...

Including this year, yes. After this year it will be two.

Wait, 3 years left?
I think so. I am not sure. But I over heard some talk from an official who is high up in an organization that starts with T. That is all I am saying.

I wasn't happy when he won the NC and we threw some big contract at him....knew it was a mistake
Well, we just didn't whip out that contract out of thin air. As with all coaches, there are perks written within contracts for achieving certain goals.
Winning the NC required LSU to bump his salary to whatever stipulation was set in the contract previously(something like no less than 3rd or 4th highest paid in the nation of public universities or some such).
As far as his buyout, we all know that his contract runs to AT LEAST 2012. We all know that his contract is eligible to be extended by one year for each season that he wins at least 8 games. What we don't know, is if LSU actually did extend his contract these last 2 years (most hope we haven't). But as far as I know, no one's seen an updated contract from the last couple of years.
Though, I see someone said 3 years left, so does that mean they extended his contract after the 2008 season? A source would be nice.

There was a very good thread on Mile's contract last year. Another poster, an attorney, reviewed it and, if I recall, a PDF of the pertinent sections was posted. He's got four years, with an additional year tacked on every time the Tigers win 8 games. At 3.75 million per, or thereabouts.
That was the price that was paid when we thought Michigan was sniffing around in 2007. I think when Miles agent learned about Michigan's disinterest, he played Skip like a fiddle and got the sweetheart deal.
You can probably find the thread if you search for it.

bs, that has to be approved. it's NOT automatic. les has 3 years remaining, 2 after this year.

No, it's not BS. It does not have to be approved by anyone. It is automatic. You're clueless.

his contract does NOT rollover just becuae he wins 8 games. it has the option to rollover upon approval, but it's not automatic. why is that so hard to understand?

No it's not automatic. I remember the .pdf as well.
Upon winning 8 games, his contract is automatically recommended by the chancellor (or some such) for a 1 year extension. It still has to be approved by the board however.
No one knows if this has happened because since that .pdf there's been no other contracts documents put in the public.

If I'm not mistaken LSU athletic revenue for 2009 was around $82 million. I think they can afford the buyout over an installment period.
