Russell, and Flynn were Saban guys. And Mett was a Juco Transfer that was originally with Georgia that played in the Juco NCG. Mett was a 5th years SR that had only 1 online class last year. He spent a shite load of time with Cam Cameron and in the film room. Plus he was a natural pro set QB. So Mett doesnt count.
Russell 1 year with Saban, 2 with Miles
Flynn 2 years with Saban, 3 with Miles
Mett 1 year at Richt, 1 at Butler, 3 with Miles
Sorry, but this would tend that he developed these guys. Although I would say that his worst mistake was ever hiring Crowton, and then keeping him too long. We could have at least had these QBs coached up some. Also, I'm not going to even go into his talent evaluation of the position. It is completely garbage.
IMO, Cam is looking at the right recruits, and he is a good QB coach despite what people who have turned against him on here say. This disaster won't last for much longer.

This is the dumbest shite ever! Both were under his watch for 3 years! Did you see how many flaws in his game that Mett had in 2012 even after those glorious training by Bobo and some dude from JUCO?
Yes I know Miles Achilles heel is evaluation of QBs and development, but Flynn and Mett were here 3 years. Mett talked about how Cam changed so much for him. Don't talk bullshite just because you are pissed right now.

Russel was developed by Saban. Flynn as well. Mett was already developed when he came to LSU. He can't develop a freshman.

It is like y'all don't even pay attention to LSU football.

One issue for me is. Mett came in and spent his first year behind JJ/JL. People had the same excuses we are seeing now for harris..m playbook knowledge, development yada yada. But he gets into the NFL and starts as a rookie??
Did you completely forget a 4th year junior in 2012 who completed only 12 TDs in 352 attempts? Mett had the most attempts in a year, of any LSU QB since Flynn, and still didn't produce much. His stats were nearly identical to Jennings over the first half of the year. Acfually, his first 3 SEC games were on par with how bad Jennings first 3 SEC games were. Even in the bowl game, he only had 120 passing yards and couldn't complete a 2 yard pass against Bama or Clemson to close those games out.
Cam came in at fixed Mett in one year. Cam will fix the mess we have right now. I know Miles sucks in all aspects of the QB position, so believe in Cameron.

Unless Jimbo Fisher worked with the QB's when he stayed for 1 year after Saban left. Then, it's:
Russell-2 years with Saban, 1 year with Jimbo Fisher, 1 with Miles
Flynn-2 years with Saban, 1 with Jimbo Fisher, 2 with Miles
Sorry, but our QB play has been a problem with Les Miles.

Fisher was here in both 2005 and 2006.
So JaMarcus Russell worked with Fisher his entire career at LSU and Flynn worked with Fisher ever year except his senior year with Crowton.

Thanks for the correction (seriously). To me, it just reinforces the QB problems with Coach Miles.

This is so retarded. Do you not even understand yourself? You are separating Jimbo from Miles, but including him with Saban? I'll do it your way.
Russell - Jimbo 3 years
Flynn - Jimbo 4 years Crowton 1 year

Russell..developed?
I remember a QB that had the greatest zip, absolute cannon to pump it in, even if a tad late yet could make up for it with lasers, yet he never could get past his 1st or 2nd progression, despite throwing to 3 NFL WRs and a great college TE.
I remember all kinds of plays with WRs streaking free by wide margin, that were never seen.

quote:That was a good article. I agree that Les and LSU has had major problems finding and/or coaching up a decent quarterback over the years. And I also realize that this post is about how Miles can't develop a quarterback. My complaint is how damn near all the folks who don't like Miles ( for whatever reasons they might have) continue along the lines of "if something works, Miles had nothing to do with it. When things don't work, it's all on Miles". Like with Mettenberger, someone posted that Miles wasn't responsible for his success. Miles isn't 100% responsible for it, but Miles recruited him and brought him here. That statement is absolute bullshite.
Please go read this. This sums it up perfectly.
