YEA I AM NOT A JORDAN JEFFERSON FAN EITHER.ANOTHER THING THAT GETS ME IS NOW WE HAVE WASTED A YEAR OF SHEPARDS ELIGIBILITY.WITH HIS LACK OF PLAYING TIME AND LIVE GAME SITUATIONS,DID WE DO RIGHT BY THIS KID AS FAR AS HIS PROGRESSION GOES AS A PLAYER.I MEAN IS PRACTICE ENOUGH FOR HIM TO PROGRESS AT A LEVEL THAT HE DESERVES.THIS GUY IS BOUND FOR SUPERSTARDOM,AND I HOPE THAT THESE IDIOTS(MILES AND CROWTON)ARE NOT HINDERING HIS DEVELOPEMENT.

MAN I HOPE IM WRONG,BUT I THINK OUR RECRUITING IS GONNA CONTINUE TO TAKE BIG HITS.I KNOW THAT WE HAVE ALL THE LOUISIANA STUDS ON BOARD FOR NEXT YEARS CLASS,BUT THE OUT OF STATE KIDS MAY BE ANOTHER STORY.I AM GLAD THAT WE HAVE SUCH GREAT PLAYERS FROM OUR STATE THAT WANT TO PLAY FOR THEIR STATE SCHOOL.IMO IT IS GOING TO BE IMPERITIVE THAT WE LOCK DOWN THE BORDERS OF LOUISIANA, AND KEEP ALL OF OUR PLAYERS IN STATE.

i would agree for 2011, we need to lock those guys down...I dont think we had the same talent level in LA this year and we had to go out of state...but I do believe that recruiting has fallen off due to coaching blunders...

I don't care what he says about Shepard, and it wouldn't bother me at all if nobody ever asked him a single question about it since it was the least of our problems. I wish someone would ask him why his offensive line can't block anyone. I wish someone would ask him why we only have one defensive lineman in the sophomore, junior, and senior classes that is a quality SEC player and also why that one player is so out of shape.

Someone could ask him why, in two years, we can't develop one quarterback or a successful game plan. Yet Leak at TT, loses their starter, then the following year has three quarterbacks ready to play. One QB, injures his hand, is removed from the game. The next QB enters the game and completes over 80% of his passes to win the game.

Actually it seems we've seen this type of coaching mentality before. Where the HC relies on a coordinator to do the calling because he doesn't seem to have a grasp on the play calling or scheme.

Only at that time it was a HC and a DC and not that long ago that I can't remember the results. Is this the same road as before. God I hope not!

There's truth in this. He was airborne on several occasions. He needs to bulk up 15-20% during the offseason.

IMO the sad thing is that we have wasted a year of Shep's eligibility AND missed an opportunity to maybe improve our 100+ ranked offense. Even though our OL is weak, put the ball in his hands and let him create something. I'm willing to bet that if he would have gotten 8-10 touches per game, we would have seen several plays of 10+ yards. How many drives would that have sustained? As it was, we were bad at the pass and the run and had no consistent offense at all. If you get an athlete like Shepard, you need to use him (like other schools do with athletes).

We had the want to play russell sheperd 10 to 12 snaps per game, but our damn strong football team didn't present opportunities to do so.

he will have to bulk up to about 240 lbs to hold up to those off tackle runs miles has in mind for him. that however, will be in 2012
