you disagree that Saban won 2001 Sugar Bowl with mostly Dinardo recruits? you have zero credibility.

Not to mention, from what has been said. Miles players love him.

Yeah, you know what? You are totally right! Louisiana recruits itself. Just like Texas A&M and UCLA!

Give me a break, if Miles leaves LSU you will be begging to have a recruiter like him back the year after he leaves. A blind man could see that.

Yeah, top-flight Louisiana talent going to LSU is definitely not a given. A lot of LA natives, who are now studs in the NFL, went to school out of state. UTA, FSU, UTK, Michigan, the U, etc. used to carve up our top talent amongst each other.

I can think of the last names Dunn, Wayne, and Manning right off the top of my head.

Respectfully, Dinardo did not bring in talent anywhere close to the level of Saban.

No Manning was ever going to LSU. It would not have mattered if Vince Lombardi rose from the dead to coach LSU.
Dunn left BR to get away from the memory of his mother being murdered here. Wayne was from New Orleans at a time when black kids from the city would not come to LSU because a pedophile named GW Eames was the president of the NAACP and told New Orleans black kids that LSU was a racist institution. Too many of them believed him.

Miles recruits very well, but does he really recruit to need? He goes two years without getting a quarterback(I know perriloux screwed them, but they should saw it comming.), 3 years without a true fullback, didn't go after a true center and the next issue is gonna be at WR and TE. RR ,TT and thats about it for next year. He does a good job of getting points on rivals and scout, but he isn't getting the players he needs to run his system. You would think we would have 3 solid fullbacks and 2 solid centers instead of 2 young inexperienced centers. Miles wants to run the I-formation and pound it out, but he recruits like he wants a all out spread team. I think there is definitly a conflict of interest or poor planing.

Have you seen Crowtons offense lately? Really? We are an I-form team?

What also needs to be taken into account is not only locking up the state of Louisiana, but being able to go out of state and go head to head against a player's home school and win him over. Les has done this quite well. Heck, he got Spencer Ware's commitment from Ohio over offers from programs like OSU and Michigan up there.

And none of these were playing when Miles was here. So what is your point?

My point is.. just because our name is LSU Tigers... doesn't mean we automatically get all the talent out of louisiana by default.

Huge difference between recruiting talent and recruiting talent for need.

While Miles is excellent at landing highly rated recruits, the jury is out on whether he is recruiting based on need and recruiting the players for the types of offense/defense he ultimately wants to run..

Do these recruiting services take into consideration whether a school signed players based on its needs?

No. Just based on their rating, which is across the board.

Which 2 years did he go without a QB?

He landed Perriloux in 2005. No QB in 2006. Lee in 2007. Jefferson in 2008. Shepard in 2009.

What am I missing?
