well played kleinpeter

he's really a good guy, and for those that think he is just making up shite to get noticed...then you don't know much about the guy. I'd bet my left one that he reported exactly what he was told. LSU seems to be getting some joy out of this by continuing to spin things (I'm just kidding, I know they are just being very, very careful).

We should know something by the end of the week though.

I know you are close on that side. I honestly hope he goes somewhere where he can get support and is comfortable. I think that is in the best interest for TM. I personally like his chances of staying out of trouble over the next 4-6 months, versus staying out of trouble over the next 16-18 months. I know we disagree on this (I believe another article out today on it) but I truly believe, and according to experts, that he would still be a 2nd to 3rd round pick.

I believe there's actually a 12-day window that he could still go to McNeese (heard it on Moscona's show yesterday, supposedly a former McNeese coach said that)
Was actually thinking Nicholls might be the one, however leaning back towards McNeese myself. According to the Houma newspaper their source said Nicholls has made attempts to contact Mathieu, but he has not responded. Also Mathieu has not scheduled any visit to the Nicholls campus.

SO let me get this straight.

Redfield and VC seem to be on the same page, yet were received totally opposite from one another.
One could say Redfield presented his "info" in a positive light to LSU fans, while VC presented his "info" in a negative light to LSU fans. But I don't think that's it.

FWIW, VC, if you wouldn't have started the crap about everyone besides you on here is a teenager, your point probably would've been accepted more easily.

Whatever it is it is. I said a few days ago that the longer we hear nothing, the better the chance he stays at LSU (in school, anyway). The rest is up to him. Of course, VC said none of it was up to TM.

Do you think there's any chance he sits out this season and rather than return to LSU in 2013 he goes ahead and declares for the draft after a year off?

would not be smart at all....then, yes, he could potentially fall to late rounds or no rounds.

no doubt, the only thing preventing him from a 2nd to 3rd round pick is his sobriety IMO

Did Kleinpeter say his source was from LSU? I thought his source was "close to the Mathieu family"...

One way or the other. We'll either hear something, which would mean unlikely LSU, or we will hear nothing, which would mean more likely LSU.

What got him in trouble here was the constant talking down to people and acting like every little bit of info that came out to fit his opinion he would get on here with his "see, I told you so" shite. So far, NOTHING he's said has come true to anyone's knowledge. The bottom line is none of know anything definitive right now.

Just an opinion here, but I would think his opportunity to PROVE his sobriety goes up if he's playing football, and goes up even more if it's at a high profile program like LSU. Everyone knows he's gonna have to toe the line or else, so if he goes thru a season without issues, it will be known (suspected) he's sober.

It appears TM is entertaining the idea of sitting out the year and returning. LSU, probably with good reason, isn't too confidant he will ever play another snap of football for them again. They are also kind of obligated to let him try if he wants to because according to their punishments of TM, this would be his 3rd strike. IF TM decides to try, and actually succeeds, he will be back on the team in 2013. This is the highest risk out of all his options though. The safer path would be to transfer, but unless LSU can find a way to blackball him, he has the option to choose the high risk path as well. I think. Maybe

From your position, (whatever that is), do you think even they would come out and say if it turns out he's not going elsewhere? I mean, in today's world, it won't matter. His first day of class at LSU, there would be 1,475,289 images on the web, FB, and twitter of him walking thru the quad...

yup, thats my thoughts as well...no matter where he ends up next year he knows this time (next 6 months) is important to take care of his personal business. now whether he will be able to follow through with that completely, who knows

which is why it is VERY unlikely he will be in school this fall and no lsu doesnt need to say anything...they cant comment on students (or if they do they must be extremely careful)

I don't know, you sure seemed to care the other day. And FWIW, all I'm saying is that, well, you were being a prick about it instead of showing any respect to anyone. In fact, you've just shown that's just your nature. Congrats.

rocket scientist....actually it does appear he is considering sitting out a year and going to LSU.

and returning.

if you mean to the team...again, not just up to him.

this is where everything got messed up....and why lsu is being so careful. They expected him to transfer. You are making a statement here that is simply not a definite.

The safer path would be to transfer

yes

LSU just wants him to transfer and to do well in life.

i have a feeling that even though they won't say it publicly, the conversation ending something like this

quote:

Miles encouraged him to focus on his education and get his life in order, and then he can get back on the team.

just hopeful speculation though

OK, so without going all the way back thru the 52 threads on the subject, and without you having to say more than you feel comfortable saying, lemme ask a couple questions. If you can't answer, that's fine.

In your opinion, TM will NOT be at LSU in any way, shape, or form in 2012-13, not even as student? Or just sit out the fall semester entirely? Or is it another option in your opinion?
