The real question is... Who in TAF really cares that he wasn't there?

I would assume that if one dropped a few bucks for an event like this that one would like to hear Les Miles speak. That was the point of the gathering was't it?

To me if he had a serious issue to attend to it's cool with me. I just hear how people complain about him. Second to clock management his public speaking rubs people the wrong way.

You still have me puzzled. Apparently the reason for his abscence was serious enough for his boss to OK it. And if so many people object to his speaking, why do so many attend the rallies?

Is it your premise that Les Miles ducked out of the meeting because he is a coward?

Really? Really?

Wouldn't it be courtesy to the attendees for the AD to explain Miles' absence?

Yep. And he didn't do that.

In other words, what precisely is your point

I'm not trying to win in court here, and I understand how there still are big tiger fans who would like to here him speak.

I'm simply stating how people bitch about him alllllllllllllllllllllll the time. I know people who are big in TAF and they are brutal. If TAF really has a significant chunk of money to by him out, which is a rant myth, whats the big deal?

Apparently not:

"We just came to look around, eat some dinner and have a good time," said Baton Rouge resident Gerry Menard, and LSU alumnus. "It would have been nice to hear Les talk, but I hear him on TV all the time."

Yes I understand that some people complain about him allllllll the time. Some people complained about Saban alllllllll the time, the same with DiNardo. Some fans have nothing better to do but gripe. They are and will never be satisfied.
I still don't see what the big deal was. There was some sort of situation. He reported it to his boss. The situation apparently was serious enough for Miles to miss the pep rally. They then scheduled replacements. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Somebody is trying to make a montain out of an ant pile.

Wasn't the original point of the event to hear Les Miles speak? People paid for that. If he is as bad as some think, why pay?

You expected a bunch of rich white males to riot?
What reaction would you have preferred?

Speaking of issues, you seem to have some with Les Miles.
People evidently do care because they paid in advance to hear him speak, not just in Baton Rouge, but elsewhere. When due to some unavoidable circumstances, that wasn't possible, the attendees made the best of it.
Well you are wrong about Les Miles being a moron, but you are entitled to your opinion. And some people do give a f**k. They give a f**k enough to pay out good money to hear him speak, to associate with him and to have pictures made with him. Apparently you do or you wouldn't come so unglued over such a trivial matter.
That, sir is reality.

No, the reality is that people paid money for the event, Miles couldn't make it and no one really cared.

The reality is that people paid money for the event,(which was to hear Les Miles speak) were disappointed but acted like mature adults and didn't throw tantrums.
It seems that you care quite a lot. Did you go?

he read on the Rant that TAF had his buyout in place and had already flown Pelini in twice to get a deal done for Pelini to take over, and said "frick it"

I don't know if that is in fact the case, but gosh dang it sure seems that way at times.

That makes two of us. Seems to me that if anything, Joe was backing up his coach by saying if anyone had a problem with Miles not being there to bring it to him cause be made the final call.

Just goes to show how different people will come up with different opinions on the same event.

Then you admit that you have no idea what the feeling was in that room when it was announced that Les Miles wasn't going to be able to speak?

I read what people in the Advocate said. What's the big deal? He didn't show. They didn't care. So what?
