As much as Miles gets blasted for being "dumb", I have been pretty impressed over the last 6+ years with Miles 2 point conversion decisions. Rarely does Miles jump the gun and go for 2 like most coaches in the 2nd and 3rd quarter to make up for a missed xp or something. Meanwhile, I have seen Saban make some pretty stupid 2 pt conversion calls - the 2000 Ole Miss game comes to mind.

Note: People will bring up the LSU/Bama game 2 years ago where I think Miles made a questionable call there. But I think it just didn't work for LSU and did for Bama.

The thread was more about Miles and how he has made mostly good decisions regarding 2 point decisions compared to coaches in general.

The Saban reference was just a point of comparison. I have seen Saban make other questionable calls too but whether 1 year or 11 years ago that 2 pt conversion decision was one of the stupidest I have ever seen.

The one that always comes to mind for me was not going for 2 after the D Byrd TD with 1 second left against Auburn. Miles gets too caught up in the moment to coach sometimes

Miles > Saban in height as well as being a human. In other words, Miles doesn't demean his players and treat them like crap and he's not a Midget.

If you watched the Texans game you would think so. They were too stupid to know the same play was going to be called.

No shite, I'll personally volunteer my services to make just those types of decisions for Les, or clock management, specifically without letting 15 seconds run off the clock before calling a needed timeout

But seriously, why is there a never ending comparison of Miles and Saban? This shite is getting older than racism.

I mostly did it because I figured it would attract 10x more traffic. Guess it worked.

It was mostly a point to mention I have been generally impressed with Miles not being an idiot like most coaches when it comes to 2 point conversions.

Just out of curiosity....why?

LSU went up by 5 with the TD - a 2 pt conversion would have made it 7. Had Auburn run back the kickoff, we lose. There was no reason NOT to go for 2.

I can't remember though, didn't the clock run out? Or did we kickoff?

This thread wont make 3 pages. And it has nothing to do with Saban.
