Mett's awareness of the rush seems to have improved. Of the two sacks, one he got caught by the sleeve of his long johns and couldn't get away. The other was a flat out blitz right into him...he had no chance on that one.

Hmm... I guess Manziel was throwing into the same wind, huh? Mettenberger hasn't improved in 7 games and people are still looking for reasons to justify his pathetic performances. People want to blame the makeshift offensive line, but that same line has allowed our running backs to rush for over 200 yards in the last 2 games. We need to stop looking for excuses and hope that Miles starts looking for a QB.

We already noted that Manziel was not throwing passes 20-25 yards down field, mainly short passes so wind would not have the same affect. When he did throw it deep it was picked off once and techincally twice but it was called back for offsides.

Listen, I said in the OP that the wind was not hiding the fact he was around a 40% comp but I've seen progress from Mett mainly the fact that he's seemed much more comfortable recently. He is noticing the pass rush much better, had two-three instances where he was surpingly able to scramble out of being pursued in the backfield, he's making the right throws as of late and most imporantly he's owning up to his mistakes unlike #9 from a year ago.

We have to look at Mett like he's a underclassmen, he regressed a bit against Auburn, Towson, Florida but two of those games were against SEC teams on the road. Yes, I do believe there are some issues he as well as the entire offense needs to fix before we take on Bama but in NO WAY would I be looking for another QB if I were Miles. The QB we have is the only one who could take us to a NC this season so we might as well get behind him before the biggest game of his life.

Completely agree with this....all I have said since the beginning on the season, is that I wont worry about Mett until the Ol Miss game. If he has made zero progressions from the season opener till then, I am concerned. But I think he will be just fine by the last 1/3 of the season.
