The names are stitched to a panel of fabric that matches the jersey. Then the entire panel is stitched to the jersey. He probably had the Burreaux nameplate loosely stitched over his name and then ripped the panel of fabric off before the game.

I heard that his dad isn’t talking to him because he disrespected the family name. I don’t need sources, it’s called journalism 2019.

No, he had 2 different jerseys. The video on LSU's Twitter shows him taking off his normal one to put the burreaux one on.

I believe the name on the jersey must be spelled correctly during the game due to regulations. This reg was made so Saban would not be confusing the punter and QB.

The ESPN Radio show that Barrett Sallee hosts were saying that the refs made Joe change his jersey before kickoff. I wasn't at the game, but I'm thinking they are wrong.
