I am not asking for 60 points, but a smooth looking offense against much weaker teams is not too much to ask.

Defne smooth looking. A touchdown every play? Maybe a first down every play? No incompletions?

If your cute little economy car that's advertised at getting 50mph only gets 12, but gets your from Point A to Point B in one piece, would this be acceptable? It's all about expectations. Just like opinions and A-holes.... we all have them. Our performance vs. expectations is a barometer of things to come - especially when tough competition is on the horizon. It also serves as valuable feedback - like we get from friends, family and counselors as to how we're doing. I think knowing how we're doing is a good thing.

Does wonders for TCU and BSU

Votes still make up much of BCS and voters get all gooey over clubbing baby seals like Mcneese.

Why do you think LSU was ranked higher in the computers than it was in the polls. Why do you think Boise State was ranked ahead of LSU even after they lost to Nevada? You do know that the human polls are 2/3 of the BCS formula, don't you?

I think you missed the point. I would rather win a cupcake game in a somewhat reasnol maner and save what we have for the BIG BOYS. I STILL don't see what t matters why we have to beat La Tech, or ULL , OR Mcneese by 60 points except for the YOUNG bandwagon fans that only want to see DOMINATION. We gave everything we had to beat Bama and were flat against Mcneese. SO we won.

I'm not advocating beating up on anybody. Point is we let many inferior teams hang around with us because the offense could not score early points on bad defenses. La Tech last year and even McNeese hung around with us this year. And it wasn't as if we weren't trying.

LSU has scored points on weaker teams before with second, third string players. Without trying to run up the score. I don't think this is disrespectful at all. Its also called a 'tune up' game for a reason. None of this was happening with Crowton.

Sure I do. So you are saying a win over Mcneese is just as good as a win over Miss State??? With the same score in each.

Hanging 60 on McNeese St. makes you feel more manly or something?

LSUs offense was pedestrian because of the fact they have a dumbass at QB, not the offensive coordinator. Can't call much when your QB is too stupid to decipher an defense.

It also helped Alabama against teams like San Jose State, Duke and Georgia State. National title contenders are supposed to make cupcakes look like high school teams. In 2003, LSU beat Louisiana Tech 49-10 which seems pretty ordinary. But what was extraordinary was the halftime score of 49-3. It takes an elite team to do that to a team who had beaten Michigan State earlier in the season. Boise State's starters routinely spend the second half of cupcake games on the bench and avoiding injury, which is exactly what LSU's starters should be doing against teams like McNeese State..

The assumption is that you control the outcome of the game before it starts and you will win vs. the little guy. When the outcome is threatened by an unexpected close game, then that is cause for alarm, assuming that a close game was not your outcome of choice. It's reasonable to conclude that if you struggle vs. the little guys now, you will get your brains beat out vs. the big guys later. It is cause for concern and a clear message there is something wrong with the current state of the team and needs attention. This is a reasonable conclusion.

Of course not. What I'm saying is that when you struggle with teams like McNeese State, you get punished by the pollsters.
