It has a certain feel to compare these 3.

All veteran type guys with journeys.

Mauck with Cubs and 24 years old (if I am remembering correctly).

Flynn on 2003 Natty team as RS Fresh, then with the long wait behind Russell until taking the reigns as a 5th year guy.

Now, Burrow, graduating in 3 years while waiting to play at Ohio St, and now entering his 5th year as starting QB,after a gritty full year at the helm in '18.

I like the similarities.

Hoping for a similar season in '19 as we saw in '03 and '07.

Let's geaux!

Joe is probably the best of the 3 and the most upside.

To me there is a big resemblance in the game of Flynn and Burrow. Both can run fairly well if need be, both have the at talent and knowledge of the offense.

The biggest similarity I see is their will to win. Both guys are hard-nosed and have that little bit of attitude and leadership (Burrow admittedly has more attitude )to push their teams over the hump and push for real accomplishment.

Still there’s that nagging question about lack of productivity from underclassmen qbs.
