I seem to recall last spring you said you were going to JUCO.

not even. In fact, I think the rest of our team is so good we'll probably go 10-2 or 9-3 at worst. However, with a good QB this team could have been an all-time great. And that's a little bit disappointing.

Randall had more physical abilities than Hatch, I will give you that, but Lee has much better passing accuracy/arm.
Comparing JR's situation to the current set of QBs is also wrong. JR came in after it was clear Randall was the starter. JR had nothing to lose in that Randall played horribly to start the year. We all also know that we aren't asking these guys to be JR. Look at Flynn his RS FR year against Iowa versus JR.
IMO, Lee should've been the starter and gotten most of the reps because he needed it the most, but in reality they chose Hatch and seem to be sticking with him. Hatch has made some mistakes and so has Lee, and I may disagree with how they've handled the playing time in these first two games, but in reality, that's what's happened.
Lee and Jefferson have the physical ability needed, they just need the snaps and time to get their rhythm in games.

Im glad we have a good run D to rely on and a strong running game, but at some point we are going to have to pass to win the game.
See, there are definitely going to be games this season when were are just plain, straight up fricked. Over the last few years, we could have won every game we played, but we lost a few close ones. If we get our asses handed to us at UF, or UGA beats us at home by 17, who cares? It's still two losses. Just beat Auburn, and the rest of the season should be fine.

I dont know if they are keeping the playbook simple or they just dont believe in these guys, but soemthing has to change for us to have a successful passing game
I think we're definitel holding some stuff back, but more so on the defensive side of the ball. The only things I can think of that our offense could be hiding is:
1. More Richard Dickson
2. More Keiland Williams
3. More Terrance Toliver
4. Some Jordan Jefferson
I think KW is just in the doghouse, but it doesn't make sense why TT isn't playing. If they're waiting to unleash the "big pass play" against Auburn, then I think we'll see more of Toliver. I just don't know how much we can be hiding with this passing game, ESPECIALLY with Hatch. Lee has an arm, so maybe we'll test the deep ball with him. If JJ comes in, AU will probably be thinking run. Maybe if we're desperate, play action pass? I'm just looking for things.

Randall was in his 4th yr at LSU in 2004. I think Hatch is every bit as talented and good as Randall was the night of the South Carolina game in 2002 ,when he got his first start after our brilliant former coach still had Mauck handing the ball up the middle in a 36-7 win knowing full well we didn't have a capable backup.
Now,for 2004 v 2008 ,yes Randall is better than Hatch. But we do have a better running game than 2004 and a probably a better defense.
I'm not too worried.

Randall is way better right now than Lee and Hatch. But if JJ got to play some he might be better.

I think 9-3 at worst too. I was telling my gf at the game yesterday just how mad I am at RP. If he was here, I'd definitely take LSU over USC. It really is unfortunate that LSU can never put it all together:
2005 Hurricane, win 11 games
2006 4 top 10 road games, win the Sugar Bowl
2007 Lose starting QB/WRs/FS, still win MNC
2008 No QB
We've definitely done incredible for the hands we've been dealt, but frick if we couldn't have a few undefeated teams if a few players were a year younger.

I don't expect anything from Hatch's noodle arm.

The amazing thing is that Randall in Crowton's offense would have been amazing in my opinion. He was a solid scrambler, big and fast, and had a good arm. Alot more quick reads would've helped him as well in that I believe his biggest mistakes came when he had too much time.
His best plays were when he had 2 or so quick reads and then throw or run if its not there.

Definitely better than Hatch, but I don't know if I trust Randall throwing those slants in all that traffic with his inaccurate arm.
