Upperclassmen like Harold Perkins, Ashton Stamps, Ryan Yaites and Toviano?
There's a huge difference in player young players out of necessity and playing them because they are more talented. He played every one of them because we had to. Some of this falls on House. He held a lot of players back.
As for MB, I like the kid and him wanting to stay, but let's be honest here. We have to and can do better. Also, where exactly was he going to go? Pros? Would not have been drafted or made a roster. Transfer to SLU?
I hope he does get better since he is staying, but on a team looking to improve the roster, would have been nice to have his spot for some of the CB's in the portal.

he has the one thing our defense was not lacking this year and the one thing you cannot coach up, barking at the opposing player after tackling them 8 yards downfield.

I have a feeling he's going to be passed up if we get a DC that's not inept and goes against CBK's old ways of forcing upperclassmen over better young players.
You are dumb as all frick. All your posts suck cock.

"More talented" doesn't always equal "better." A lot of young guys--even the really talented ones--aren't the "best" their freshmen seasons because they aren't physically, technically, and mentally ready to play. But you're too fricking stupid to comprehend this, so I'm likely wasting my breath/typing.

This is actually a decent point by you. I was listening to Moscona and listed 10 safeties on the current roster. But I know he listed Toviano there--I think a lot of us think that's probably his best position. That, or the nickel. Can't remember if he listed Sage as as a safety or not. But you're right that we have a lot more safeties than corners. Maybe after a year, Toviano can develop into a good corner. Maybe Stamps or Hughes develop significantly. Maybe a couple of the incoming freshman come in ready to play. (I'm not counting on Alexander or JK coming back in time and healthy enough, but if they do, that's a nice lagniappe.
Good thing is we'll have new coaches and a spring to evaluate these guys and determine where they fit the best so we can have the best unit on the field. But 10 safeties is still a lot. I'm sure a few will see the writing on the wall after the spring and will hit the portal and we can grab a couple if we need. Probably need to grab at least one in the current portal if a good one is available. That NC State guy sounds good on paper, but granted, I haven't seen him play. And he may follow their DC if he takes another job.
Regardless, Major coming back is big for experienced depth. He could improve with new and (hopefully better) coaching. But if he gets beat out by a younger, better player, even better. The more numbers--especially veteran--players the better at a position that was so putrid. The cream will rise to the top, and the ones who see the writing on the wall that they may not play much will leave (of their own volition or getting "processed"), and open up the necessary spots to get us down to 85.
