A team is only as good as their record says they are. And this team isn't that good at this point. neither is our coaching.

Think I actually backed you in one of your threads, but you don't have to tell me, I've known since Mainieri got here that we had a huge portion of uneducated fans

I agree.......but I also want to call out the people who were hating on me after the Fullerton series when I said I was disappointed at how CSF played...

The blown save in game one of the UF series, the lack of one timely hit in game 2 of the UF series, the lack of one timely hit last night and now this game where we blow a 3 run lead despite only having 4 hits. Strange.

at some point you just have to figure our luck is going to turn around, and if it means a long win streak, great, but it may be another year. At least the pitching gives me hope for next year

What about the hitting? We lose Mahtook and potentially Nola?

Yeah...not making excuses or defending anyone, but the difference 3-8 and 6-5 for this team is so close it is scary.

Good teams make their own luck. I've been very quite the last 5 or so games. But at some point you just have to face facts, It isn't luck if it happens over and over again. I haven't been this pissed in a while, at least since Smoke.

At some point it stops being luck. Baseball is a huge game of confidence and this team just doesn't have it right now.

I agree with this. Mainieri plays too much small ball and the team can't get any clutch hits, which is a god-awful mix.

Absolutely. We must all now accept that our chances of hosting a Regional are gone. We are fighting to make the SEC tourney at this point. Making a serious post-season run is hard to do on the road, but our starting pitching gives us hope.

Isn't it clear? Fire the coach and pitching coach, immediately, especially since there are so many qualified replacements available in the middle of April who could just step in and take over.

Start benching people like Nola for a few games to make a point. Nobody is too good to be benched. And Watkins should never see the field.

I agree...it is just baseball. That is all. People on here just HAVE to have answers...there just has to be a reason as to why things happen. I am not built that way I guess. To me, baseball is the sport where there are always 2 decisions you can make, each of which can lead to a good outcome...and if you pick the one that leads to a "bad" outcome, I don't necessarily see it as a "bad coaching decision".

Leave Berry in, or bring Ott in? I see the pros and cons of both sides. Coach made a decision. It didn't work out. Does that make him an idiot coach? No. shite happens.

Yep, and it is happening to us this year! Based upon what I'd seen so far this year, I was all in favor of Berry over Ott in the 9th. I thought we had the game. It didn't work out. We can all question CLM on some decisions, but there is no way to know what would have happened had he made the opposite move.

I beleive what was said on ESPN that LSU will bounce back by mid season. Last year it was ptiching that kept us from advancing and might be the same this year...but hope it comes around (and not just referring to this game)
