Very good post and I agree 100%. I have often made the same point on here....although I prefer to use the NFL draft as a talent barometer as opposed to Rivals rankings. Nevertheless, ultimately the point is the same one you make. Too many fans make the mistake of using CFB statistics to support their arguments, but with the wide variety of schedules and competition its easy to make some flawed assumptions.

quote:
Tennessee: 14 (even with one extreme outlier year where their class was ranked 35 - the remainder of their classes were Top 15 or Top 10)
not sure if this ranking accounts for players that left, but I'm not sure the Janzen Jackson/Bryce Brown year remains Top 15. With only one major signee that year it will probably throw the numbers off.
This doesn't invalidate your entire point, but trying to factor in players in recruiting classes as if they even have an impact is a poor way of conveying your point. Players accounted for in your arguement, Cam Newton/Brantley signing at FLA, Julio Jones and Mark Ingram signing @ Alabama.

good facts but
Florida will have a QB starting for the first time and the game is in tiger stadium (chris leak beat lsu in 2003 as a freshman starter in death valley).
Tennessee is good but there defense was exposed by florida.
auburn has been good against mediocre teams (except for clemson), south carolina are you kidding me they can't throw the ball for shite so they are one dimensional LSU is not.
I say we beat Florida by 14, tennessee by 10, and auburn by 17.
