Last season, we won by an average margin of 24 points. Take away special teams and defensive TD's (for arguments sake) and I would imagine we still won by over 18 pts (complete guess) a game. Our offense, in most people's opinions, has upgraded, but we can say with all certainly it won't be any worse. We have had some serious losses on the defense, losses we should adequately fill. Conservatively, even if our d gives up 10-14 more points a game we should win them all. I am confident we win every game, save Alabama which is always a toss up.

I know it's the 1st game but it's all we have to go on. One of the most discouraging things I saw last night was the battle in the trenches. Obviously I'm not going to say we lost the battle in the trenches but we didn't dominate like I thought we would. If u would have told me that north Texas would have more sacks than LSU I would have LOL....again I know it's the first game but I hope we get a little more pressure on UW QB and protect mett just a little better

Who have they lost to in recent seasons that they shouldn't have?

2006= Auburn. LSU's best team ever in my opinion.
2007= Kentucky and Arkansas
2008= Arkansas (Arkansas finished season 5-7)
2009= Ole Miss and Penn State
2010= 2 loses. Ok with both of them
2011= LSU did not play it's full hand.

COACHING is my biggest concern, mainly offensive play calling....

This. People don't seem to understand that the supposedly "vanilla" play calling we saw last night IS LSU's offense under Miles. There will be no breaking out a more wide open offense against better opponents. He calls the same plays over and over and over again, often running them even if they aren't successful.

I'd love to see what a legit offensive coordinator would do with our offense if he wasn't handcuffed by Miles. As soon as Stud got promoted to OC, I knew we were in for more of the same.

This is one of my biggest concerns. We have a huge OL, and yet they didn't do a great job at protecting Mett. The DL didn't do a good job at all at getting pressure on the QB.

You are stupid if you think we're losing to South Carolina. We won 41-14 in what might as well have been a practice scrimmage. South Carolina looked terrible.

I'm just laughing at all the dumbasses on here who think we still have a secret playbook. Years later and people STILL think Miles is going to pull the secret playbook out.

This is our offense. Simple and very vanilla. Running is our identity and we got away from it last night. We didn't pound it in when we should've relied on it the most. This is what worries me the rest of the season. Red zone offense was turrible. Our stats should've put 50+ points up easy. The offense is simplified so Mettenberger doesn't have to do much but rely on his physical gifts. It's still the same vanilla Miles offense.

It will be a problem against great defensive teams like Bama. Should dominate anyone without great defenses though. We can simply lean on other teams with superior athletes. Mett can't read defenses, stares WRs down and probably isn't deep in the playbook. It's likely one reason he didn't start last year. This is why it will stay simple...
