LSU would have batted .453 as a team in the tourney. You just don't know, brah. You just don't know.

We should schedule St Johns to come down here next season. They can't play at home in March, and we don't like to travel.

St. John didn't steal lsu's bid. UALR and New Mexico stole it. Last year there were only 2 stolen bids, LSU would have been in with their resume.

apparently northern schools have a built in advantage now considering they cant play a home game until mid-march

if georgia loses the first game against florida and finishes the tourney 2-2 and not NCAA-eligible, LSU gets in .. if matty ott could have held the lead against mississippi state, LSU gets in .. if matty ott closes out the win in game one against florida, the season turns out totally different ..

Why does everyone think people are out to get LSU. You don't make your conference tourney then you don't have a right to bitch.
When you find the rule where making a conference tourney is a prerequisite for making the NCAA tourney, let me know. A conference tourney's sole purpose is to get an automatic qualifier, and after that at-large bids are given to the best of the rest. St Johns was the last team in, LSU the last team out. The committee thought St. Johns more deserving than LSU based only on conference finish, not RPI, not OOC SoS, not conference SoS, not winning percentage vs. top 100 teams.

well, the big ten people bitched for so long that the playing field wasnt level because of weather. I guess it's only fair that we give the northern teams a leg up to help them out. Let's call it redistribution of geography.

as opposed to the advantage of padding your overall record playing incredibly inept schools at home utilizing your huge home field edge ?

Why do you keep bringing up Out of Conference SoS? LSU had a higher OOC SoS than St. Johns. It's moot.

Where did STJ finish in their conference compared to LSU?
Posted on 5/30/11 at 2:33 pm to CerealKilla
I think his point slowmo was that St. John's didn't steal our spot. Jesus Christ.

LSU should have not been swept by the top teams in their conference. They should have not gotten the majority of their wins against the 11th and 12th place team. You can say LSU had a better resume but they had a losing record against the top 25 and 50 plus they sucked in conference. Suck it up.
Posted on 5/30/11 at 2:35 pm to RogerTheShrubber
they finished 2nd in the big east

Who had more wins? Who played the tougher schedule, who had more wins against the top 100?
Assuming all conferences are equal, then St. Johns finishing higher is relevant.

because THAT is WHAT the committee member mentioned as to why we didn't get in !!!!! why can't you get that through your thick, fricking skull ????? a person that was on the committee that was in the room that made the decision said our weak non conference schedule early on played exclusively at home is one of the big determining factors as to why we didn't get in ... i think that carries a little more relevance than this st. john's red storm wah wah thon you guys are on here ..
