i've gone to every game but two this yr. there is a small group of people in BR that actually supports the basketball program win or lose.

it's funny to see our "fans" trash the team when they are down, but the minute we start winning, they are the biggest fans ever.

makes me sick.

Not trashing. I want to know which college fanbase shows up to basketball games no matter what. The answer is, none of them do. The lion's share of attendance everywhere is people coming to see a winner. Duke, UNC, and UK win every year. Let's see them go through stretches where they win 2 conference games a year before we assume that crowd behavior, which is largely universal, is somehow different in Baton Rouge.

yea i kinda shook my head when i read 'lsu did not submit a bid to host a game' which is cool and all considering i didn't expect us to be a top 4 seed, but you'd think they'd go the extra mile to try and secure some postseason basketball if they want to try and keep people behind this program. i guess it worked out.

someone from ball state just hit a three.

I've never seen a team shoot the three like Ball State did that night. I remember after our game, they went completely cold their next game and got destroyed...

Was that known as of the bid deadlines or could there have been some overlap?

The dates were known im pretty sure. i have no proof though. The women's dates certainly have been known probably for a year now. All first round NIT games are either Tuesday or Wednesday. I doubt they would make school submit bids without letting them know what dates they're submitting for.

But the NIT bids were for the first two rounds and the second round overlaps with the dates of the women's first and second rounds.

Maybe. in baseball you dont have to bid on regionals and supers. Baseball is different but before believing that you HAD to bid on first AND second rounds for the NIT i would need to see some type of proof.

If only your thread was about baseball....

EAT: If a team hosts the first round of the NIT and wins, it may be asked to host the second round at its court. Therefore a bid must be submitted to include both the first and second rounds.

maybe but they could always have the other team host the game. like i said without seeing the actual bid process (which i realize isnt available online to look at) we really dont know.

Not true. I get it that I hurt your feeling with my skip comments but it's been a week. Time to get over it. Following me around in threads and trying to discredit everything I say just comes across childish and petty.

Oh is this about the "skip shouldn't be in the dugout" thread?

I don't think he should either but am alot more upset about him pushing smoke on us and smoke running the program into the ground.

You must have me confused with someone else. You didn't come close to hurting my feelings. I don't remember what you posted that would have come close to hurting my feelings.

It's just with that thread and this thread, it's apparent you have too much time on your hands so you just gripe about insignificant things, or to use your word....you're just petty.

Why would you have other events (gymnastics, etc.) scheduled during this time at home and set yourself up to have to turn down opportunity to host NIT game(s)?

So I guess you're assuming the basketball team was NIT or bust this year.

Who schedules stuff according to the NIT tourney anyways....I mean really!
