Just depends on the school and the classes that are taken. Now days it's really hard to compare GPAs even within a school due to the different levels of classes that are available. I think a better indictor would be the SAT or ACT scores.

They have! LSU recently purchased more land on the LSU South Campus for more businesses. EA Sports has been a huge success over there and rumored to be expanding as well.
I'd really like to see LSU start buying up real estate on the north end of Nicholson and create some nice student housing. One thing I really liked about Tuscaloosa was the housing available for rent to students right near campus (walking distance). I think LSU could do the same on Nicholson. It would improve the community by tearing down some old, run-down buildings and give students a nice place to live. If LSU owned a part of the real-estate, then it could make money as well.

You missed the point I was making. Yes I agree that anyone should be able to make a 3.0 in HS but all 3.0s are not the same. A kid with a 3.0 in regular classes don't hold a candle to one with a 3.0 in gifted and AP classes. Same GPA but on two totally different levels.
