In other threads or by other people, maybe. You stated emphatically 4 years and were persistent in defending that period of time for a while.
People have suggested it in this thread from early on. I know because I was one of them.

Student tickets are subsidized by LSU. See the thread on free tickets to Outback Bowl thread.
Which LSU? See, LSU Athletics is not LSU. It is seperate for the purposes that meets the needs of say, paying what is a state government employee at this state university millions of dollars. Let's get some truth about abhorrent behavior. The lies told by those of the big sports academia elite for their power and greed. Since you say it is entertainment, then remove it from the university all together and LSU, the university, will no longer get the annual 5 million or more from LSU, the athletics one. Don't tell me that the students paying tuition should have their tickets taken away because it's just mere entertainment without holding those athletes to same very strict standards because those athletes are students as well and they are always given more chances because of the money they bring into the university. When a football player gets into a fight at a bar, he must be kicked off the team. When Miles cusses and it is caught on TV, then make him return his salary for cussing because he is their as the employee of the university still as defined by law as the university sees fit.

I think you're ignoring a few thousand bucks each student pays to be a student in the first place.
and for that you're receiving an education, student tickets are a privilige at LSU, some schools don't even have football programs

LSU is a state university. But it sure seems the athletic department sure doesn't give a damn about the people in the state and it is evident in the behavior of the now annual "neutral site" games played under the lie of "getting LSU some exposure."
When LSU plays those games in Texas, it hurts Louisiana taxpayers known as the businesses around LSU's campus. They are denied revenue on that day while businesses in Dallas, Houston and Atlanta have made money. Why does LSU care so little about the loyal fans that support the university year round by taking revenue out of their pocket that helps them and LSU. The profits that those businesses around campus make on game days also pay the sales taxes that help support LSU. LSU isn't getting a dime in tax revenue from those neutral-site games and neither has Oregon or North Carolina and Wisconsin will not either. TCU, a private university, is in Texas and we played them at the "neutral site" in their metro/hometown.
LSU athletics has forgotten those that have been and are most loyal to LSU and they don't give a damn and it is because we have an AD that really doesn't give a damn about LSU and Baton Rouge much like he didn't give a damn about the innocent kids and coach at Duke. I am repulsed by him and what he did by not defending those kids and the rule of law and it showed me his true character. He caved in to the mob screams of those seeking political power and those race baiters that never miss an opportunity to falsely accuse and never have to say they were wrong.
How dare he use cameras on students when his behavior is what is so much more offensive but people are not seeing clearly because LSU has become a vapid, immoral place just like most of the colleges and universities in our nation where standards are used on some because it "hurts the image they want to project to the rest of the world."

How about we all know our place and not concern ourselves with what others choose to say?

Show where you stated that. You have stated since early on that you were for the 4 year plan, which I have never once thought would work. You mentioned once at least 4 years and once didn't specify 4 years although you didn't mention permanently also. You have not said scrapping prior to this afternoon. Maybe in another thread but not here.
Regardless, I have never seen this as a tradition and would be behind dropping the song altogether as a solution.

I did. He didn't state it. If he wants to say he did, he should be prepared to back it up. I admitted where I missed yours but that is the only one that happened. You are full of shite with your better than everyone else attitude and trying to make it seem like I am calling out everyone with random stuff.

You're right, I've never said the song needs to be shelved in this thread before this afternoon. 100% correct
