Weren't a bunch of players in the early, early days essentially paid mercenaries with little to no affiliation with the University? Like Doc Fenton.

How is your argument that because they haven't done it in the past that they shouldn't be able to do it now? This is why you fail.

Why does the University deem it necessary? - Because they've made the mistake of "negotiating with terrorists." What the University deems necessary isn't necessary, nor will it prove productive or beneficial. I am being critical of my alma mater and/or its athletic department for wasting resources on something entirely futile at the expense of the de facto free speech of the students--the most vital population affiliated with the University. frick those who support this movement and appoint themselves the moral superiors of the students. They are absolute pigs and are the most morally reprehensible and obscene people in this debate.

Smoke and mirrors because the university is doing exactly what you said that they should do and you don't agree with it now. You have made a failed argument and are now trying to twist it into some moronic direction. Also, you are a sorry sack of crap as well as nonsensical if you are comparing this to "negotiating with terrorists". Your argument lacks in any sort of common sense or intelligence.

Well they were athletes when they stepped on the field, yes, but up until the day they actually played the game, they weren't yet athletes. They were something else. They weren't student spectators before the team was formed, were they? You asked a question and don't like the answer so you are again trying to confuse the point with nonsensical "smoke and mirrors". Take your medicine even if it tastes bad.

Your inability to interpret the purpose of an absurdist analogy for the sake of an argument--despite my putting the analogy itself in quotation marks specifically to indicate that I did not mean "terrorists" literally--speaks a bit about the level of common sense and intelligence that you currently are employing in this argument.

Meeting a terrorist's demands legitimizes their bullshite agenda.

I wish there was a gif of a bunch of monkeys throwing poop at each other. It would be awesome and I would use it often.

You made the statement "What is wrong here, however, is that the University has no history of policing language to the point of using funds to implement camera surveillance for the purposes of removing from the stadium those who use vulgar chants", so how is it not your argument? Or are you arguing that they should have employed the use of cameras previously?

Yes, if you are equating this situation with negotiating with terrorists in any way, I am absolutely calling you a name. However, how am I the language police. I am not banning songs. I am not attempting to stop the chants. I do not have the power to do anything except to voice a opinion, just as you take the time to. The university is taking action, just as you proposed that they have the right to do. So how exactly does me expressing an opinion make the the language police when I have no authority to take action on it?

I could understand it and the only relevant part of your point now is how absurd your argument was. You lack the intelligence to make a more sensible argument so you tried offering what you did. In essence, you threw crap on the wall in the hopes it would stick and it didn't

He's not the one trying to police language. But I guess that's just a little too hard for you to get.

If I am a student's guest at the LSU game, can you get one of them to pay for my $5,000 season tickets????

A "guest" usually doesn't pay to attend something.

If I'm your guest, "you" foot the bill.

I'm about sick of everyone bitching about the student section and their dumbass chants. If any of you idiots think you're gonna stop it by kicking them out or banning songs then you're not worth arguing with. Besides, if you're not listening for it, which most children aren't, then you can't make out what they are saying.

If you idiots want to clean up Tiger Stadium then I suggest you ban tailgating and give breathalyzer tests at the gate to keep all the drunks out. I have never been to a game where there weren't at least a dozen grown me within a 20 ft radius that dropped the f bomb after every play.

I said they shouldn't do this. I never said that they shouldn't be able to. I've not questioned the University's right to police its events; I am not, therefore, the hypocrite you called me. You attributed to me an argument I never made.

"Absurdist" and "absurd" are adjectives that do not mean the same thing. You are obviously unaware of this and are in no place, therefore, to take personal jabs at me for using words that you do not appear to understand.

Using an absurdist analogy is not namecalling, and your idea that my analogy equates terrorists with the language police is not only absurd, but an insult to terrorists.

Your namecalling is weak and valueless.

You think ballcaster is a hypocrite for calling people names when he keeps referring to language police. I know exactly what you're talking about.
